The Best Of Luck To You Skink!
I found my course frustrating at first, but once you learn to jump through hoops, it gets better.

Nope. I have a job, which I risk daily by being here.
I suppose No qualifications if a tad extreme.
I got 6 C's at GCSE and that was only luck because I did fuck all work. A-Levels I hadn't learned my lesson and got 2 U's and an N.
Hmmm, that's basically fuck all. I could've done a lot better admittedly. I have my CAD training certificates though. Woooo!
:D
I am generally happy though mate. I didn't like school to be honest. I like learning but I hated the teachers and most of the other pupils.

"I hated the teachers and most of the other pupils"
hmm, yeah, that can be unconvenient hehe. although i must say i met quite excellent people among pupils and teachers..although the problem i had is to pick university i did only because my friends went there as well. i didn't like it one bit and i will be sorry about that my whole life. when i read (especially on this mb) about all kinds of studies/courses people in foreign have makes me kinda sad we don't have any of that here. i guess that comes with being such a small country..ahh

To be fair there was a couple of nice teachers but they didn't teach me. The music teachers at my school were shockingly bad. They couldn't teach. They had a knowledge of the subject but they were shit teachers. One of them was just incompetent and the other had favourites.
The friends I have from school are great friends though and I wouldn't change them for the world :D
Uni looked fun though :D
Shame about the way your Uni was picked. It's strange how we can look at things in retrospect and see what we couldn't then!

no, but it definatley helps. i've pissed away the last two years of my life in crappy jobs, have gone through a bad patch of depression, and achieved fuck all.... because i dropped out of school twice, and now i want to go back :(
of course some people will get through regardless of qualifications, and if you do, fair play to you, but for most people, an education is a way on securing your future, financially at least, if nothing else....

We had a couple of music teachers. One was ok, but I only had her for one year. The other was one of the biggest tossers I've ever met.
Not suited to teaching at all, a petty, spiteful man and his knowledge of music was very limited. He knew loads about classical, but that was it. I reckon he was a failed concert pianist or something. He was so close-minded. He hated all modern music, calling it simple and repetative and wrote off dance music as "not music at all, it's just dun-dun-dun."
A real fascist prick about other things too. He admired the koreans for imprisoning people for dropping litter and tried to make someone pay to "replace" a pair of headphones they threw to a mate about 4 foot away (there was a table in the way) despite the fact the headphones were caught and didn't break. His reasoning was, "It's only chance they didn't falla nd break, you should pay for them."
I can honestly say the reason I didn't do music GCSE was this man, and that it has probably slowed down my own music making by a couple of years.

haha my old music teacher was a genious on the verge on insanity, who smashed windows and threw chairs about, and eventually had a breakdown and resigned in one of our lessons. shame he was a nice guy really.
