That said, I don't think the albums they released sound 8 years old, even though they are. They're of the kind of rare quality that renders them timeless. Also: "Barrow said he was surprised people thought the band, who won a Mercury Music Prize in 1995 for their debut album Dummy, had split up." ROFL! Naïve maybe? Gibbons released a solo album and not a single shred of official news for almost a decade, no why would people start thinking they had split up? I guess they quite literally had their heads down. |

Has anyone here heard Beth Gibbon's collab with Rustin Man? Out of Season tied me over for quite a while, and I really did think that Portishead broke up. In fact I read it on numerous sites. It said that Barrow was unhappy with the band and was a bit of a jerk and they fell apart. But I'm happy now to hear this awesome news. Portishead. |
