This has many implications, but the most common one, and
perhaps the thing that has changed British culture for ever,
is that of approximeeting. People no longer need to make
firm plans about when and where to meet.

Oh God HE'S RRIGHT. Let's all burrn ourr mobiles.

it.

you pretty much decide how it's used. so you create the
negative or possitive aspects.

it's not technology that is bad, but the way people might
use it might reflect negativity to their lives.

like drugs.

mobile phones are a bit like the internet, in that you don't
miss it if you've never had it, but it creates its own
dependency.

I've never had a mobile phone and unless I become a doctor
or something like that, I will never get one.

mobile phones are stupid. because if i wanna go to the pub
with a mate i'll give em a call at home or message them on
msn. but then you get like a million texts, "are you
ready?" "i'm leaving now" "where are you man" "are you in
the pub yet" "i'm just walking up to the door now" "i'm at
the bar, yeah i can see you"

i am just as guilty of this kind of behaviour, but its just
so stupid and pointless.

be at the pub for 8. thats all you need to know. then there
are people who ring you just for a 'chat' when you only
spoke eariler that day. i love talking to people on the
phone, but only if i havent seen them in a while, or at
least not the same day . bah

My Portable Telephone Device is somewhere between a bloody
nuisance and kind of useful. It'd be an absolute
motherfucker trying to keep in touch with people i don't see
all that often without it.

I never answer phone calls if i don't recognise the number,
though. It could be a crazy insane-o killer.

From the article:

"In Korea, cameraphones must, by law, make a loud shutter
noise whenever a picture is taken to alert others of any
nefarious snapping. Men had been caught standing behind
short-skirted girls, and casually snapping away with their
phone held by their side. Such "up-skirt" shots have caused
laws to be passed in many countries to ban that activity,
and to restrict the use of cameraphones in changing rooms
and other such places. "

Cell phones can be really annoying to me. I do have one, but
use it very rarely.

BUT: Those fuckers are the new tool of revolution! Put down
your rock/molitov cocktail.. pick up the celly. Text
messaging was used to coordinate HUGE groups of demostrators
at the last Republican National Convention.. it's just
something that couldn't have been done before.

Cells are OK if you turn 'em around and make them work for
you.

my phone rings. I have Skelechairs as a ringtone :D

its called progress. eventually cell phones will improve and
stop causing cancer and shit, but they are really amazing
when you think about it. However theres the fucking morons
who think its funny to answer their cell phone in a movie
theater. God I hate those niggers. I hope they get cancer
from their cell phone just for being so goddamn annoying.

maybe not, but sadly this has happened to a lot of
relatively normal people. there's something about the mobile
that destroys even the most likeable human being into a
mid-conversation phone-answering bastard.

i really hope you're right.

its worrying me, all the shit in the ether these days.
especially with those new broadband UMTS transmitters being
set up, all the data flying about cant be good for you.

and on top of that, my country has one of the highest
allowed radiation levels of the world. the people making
plans just act as if theres nothing wrong, when for example
reports come in about fertilized chicken eggs not developing
if you place them under a gsm antenna. rantrantrant
