then order at amazon.de and pay a comparative small amount
of shipping.

ipods give you JOY, even if they may be overpriced judging
from a pragmatic level. but whatever, humans are not
pragmatic.

the ipods and the cheapest walkmans are made from the same
semislave children, with the same materials, so ipods
production cost are unlikely more than 5 dollars.
of course advertising, designing, research, all these are
included in the price too. but well, the 40GB ipod cost
1000dollars here in brazil.

and

the existing technology is obviously able to produce 80GB
ipods, 100GB, how much they want to, or include 6MP
camcorders on them, or on cellphones, or the smallest
cybershots-u could be 8, 9, 10MP.

but

these would be against the consume market intencions.

ahahaha, you are too much...
i bet you know a LOT about economics don't you?!?!
it's like computers no? why can't we have the nasa or army
ones at the prices of a celeron goddamn!
and why does sony has to put out his 10 year old technology
for his brand new portable console?

sorry to go off topic :p

iPod is cool if you can afford it, but i heard many tales of
guys and girls having to renew their battery after only one
year, it hurts...

be sure though if you decide to buy one that the damn
battery doesn't last nothing close to 12 hours. it's much
closer to 5, if that. 4 of my friends have got an ipod so
it's not just mine (all of them have the 4gen 20gb but i've
got the 40gb).

My 40 gig lasts about 10 hours.

The battery goes down quicker if you have it on random play
across all the tracks or you skip around the thing alot.

yeah, i've heard those defective ones are for the iceland
market.

hehe, all of those are bought in the us. the thing is they
give up a completely wrong batterytime. it might last for
10-12 hours if you keep on a very low volume, go to "songs",
press play and keep it playing uninterupted. the thing is
that i tend to skip songs, not that much, but still i do
that sometimes. even though i haven't got the random play on
the battery drains like hell in no time no matter what i do.

how long does it take to recharge it?

offline Atli from Reykjavík (Iceland) on 2005-01-07 06:36 [#01448812]

it takes about 4 hours if you drain it completely but
normally i just takes 2-3 hours. you can fast charge it to
80% in 2 hours.
