Does this sound OK for the beginning of a track? If not
what sort of stuff do I have to change improve
add/subtract/shoot/mame...

All advices very much appreciated.

sounds good as it is as well though :)

I really like the way the Beat is Introduced, but maybe
maybe maybe you should change the synth sounds, I don't like
them at all (I guess they sound too cheap or something).

So

Sorry to say I don't like this one. I normally do like your
stuff though. Can't like everything though.

it sounds like something skinny puppy might have made in
like 1977. not that that is a bad thing of course

I'll have a play and see. I have a thing for old sounding
and FM synths at the moment. I guess I am tired of all the
granulated synthesis stuff. Actually I am just bored with
everything at the moment...I am sure that will pass and I'll
try some other sounds before the final version :)

1977 the year of my birth :(

It's nice to hear your stuff again! I think the initial
bell-type sounds need some tweaking to give them some
richness, and maybe then they'd also match the synth stuff
introduced right after that. Maybe some filter could cut
it. I don't know what I'm talking about. cheers!

But as far as an intro is concerned it works? I can sort
dynamics later, it is structurally I am concerned about at
the moment. It's the first ever intro I have ever done, and
while it probably sounds stupid to most of you I struggled
with it.

I think it could work alright as an intro, but you could do
better. I'm not really capable of articulating anything
however =(, because everything I think of sounds
ridiculously subjective bullshitty to me. Maybe I'll spit
up that it could be somewhat more expansive.

........well...........

i like the beat only, i can't understand the melody at all.
i don't where the track is going, do you ?
i'm waiting for ver. 2, though

good luck

Yes. I know where is it going. I have the majority of the
middle section sorted, I am doing it all in sections because
it is easier that way.

damn you, we can use copy & paste.

anyway i was expecting king crimsom hi-treble-leadguitar
madness.

But this sounds nicely fresh and noncomputerish

i'm on the phone so i'll write something later

is this melody result of randomizing or is your knowledge of
western music imperfect?

i was somehow missing sub bass, but don't listen me on that.

and about that drum stuff, dude add more variation. as is it
sounds cool, but it should progress more. okay you only
asked if this is good for beginning of a track. yes it is.

offline thecurbcreeper from United States on 2005-01-02 19:03 [#01442811]

i found the entire thing to be quite corny. if it's an
intro, it would have to turn into something completely
different for me to like the song.

sorry if it's harsh, just being honest.

OK I completely changed it. :P

tlink: thanks for the comments...I am going to rework the
whole thing. As for the melody, it wasn't a randomisation
but I like melodies that sound wrong or off key or just pure
shit. I always have :)

An experiment I did in MAX/MSP a few months back.

Nope, this was before snapshot...it is a more ambient thing
that I got bored doing and then moved onto the beat driven
struff I did with it.
