is the DS out in the US yet? Its not in the UK untill March-April, the initial release of games doesn't look too good though, i'll wait thill there are a couple of 'must have' games before buying the system, like Zelda, Goildeneye, Final Fantasy etc.

Having used a DS here in the UK (I work in the games business) I have to say that PSP will most likely kick it's ass especially with all the PDA-like qualities that Sony keeps adding.
The DS is nice and all, very high quality screens etc, but the form factor is simply too large for the functionality of the device. Like, you have to have a bag to carry it in and still, you can only play games on it (and the battery life sucks)

I want both. I want DS for the new 2D Mario and the new 2D Castlevania (there's also a new 3D Castlevania coming for PS2), and PSP because Sony always delivers THE GAMES. And it looks like hawt tamales.
Man, for all the talk about the DS being ''innovative'' and all that shit... whatever. Mario 64 controls are inferior without a stick. The PSP has a stick. Instant win. Not to mention that there's more than just GRAPHICS riding on that horsepower. The PSP will be able to run games like GTA, that the DS would never be able to do. That's a huge amount of gameplay right there.

My Game Boy has its own mind or something, you have to give it the proper massage to make it work.

hmm, you got me thinking. I can get an original gameboy for £5 on ebay, a little more for the colour version.
If I was to get one could you reccomend some essential games for it? I like stuff like Zelda, R-Type, Final Fantasy etc.

I don't own a TV so I just want a small handheld system to play games on, I don't mind some retro games anyway, i'm not too fussed about graphics.

If the PSP wasn't showing the shittyness of Sony product quality I'd be interested. All I've heard is the battery life sucks along with the load times. Not to mention people finding that there are a lot of defects so far, such as dust behind screen covering, the analog control has broken off. Usual shitty sony quality.
If they fix these and put out some games I haven't played on my PS2 for 3 years now, maybe I'll think about getting on.

I looked on play.com and average price for games will be a whopping €55.99 !!!
Are they out of their friggin' minds or what? That's even more expensive than the regular PS2 prices! And the machine itself is listed for € 319.99!

things don't look too good for the psp, one of the buttons doesn't even work properly and sony's attitude was 'oh well, deal with it'
the Nintendo DS is out here in march, though i'm waiting until some decent games are released for it.

I fancy one for the movie watching side of things but I can't be doing with a shit battery life. Plus I'd have to covert films to watch them on it. That's a fucking hassle. Man, it'd be easier to nick the tablet from work and use my USB memory stick to watch films.
Actually, that's not a bad idea..
