I'd say most of everything should be for everyone. in other words: let people do as people do and if there's something in this thread you don't find funny, ignore it. that qrter deleted something was a real misuse of his "powers" and definately uncalled for; he deleted it, not because it wasn't the funniest posts ever (he couldn't possibly have, as he, himself has frequently gone over the borders of that definition, as those posts would have to be old posts that you still look back upon and laugh at, and would have had to stand the test of time before being posted in this thread; this thread has from the start been "the funny post thread," not the "funniest posts ever" thread (except for a few isolated cases), and while "funniest posts ever" would be more of an objective case, "funny posts" is completely objective, and for one (or a group of) person(s) to raise himself (themselves) above the others, saying they are the only holders of truth, funniness and the universal judge, jury and executioner.. well, you can easily see for yourself how that is wrong). so.. either everyone has misunderstood the true meaning of the thread (including its creator, vp, whose original "funniest post ever" was made only one day before he posted his), of which it follows that if the "unfunny" posts could be deleted, all posts that haven't stood the test of time, and hadn't stood it at the time of their posting should also be deleted, and the thread re-constructed, or, the second possibility: leave people be and stop imposing yourself (this is nothing personal, mind you, so I'm not only talking to Dan) on them; ignore and persist. |
