Do you love SAW II?
Try to listen the following songs in this sequence...

1) On (28 mix) from "On the remixes"
2) Track#11 (cd version only) from "Analogue Bubblebath3"
3) Quino-Phec from "Surfing on Sine Waves"

What do you think...

Yeah I got a version that I made with those tracks plus I
took the best tracks from SAW 2 (I also added Vietrmx21).

What a amazing ambient album that is, its my best ambient
album.

I think the songs who I wrote are very similiar to the SAW
II style, so differents from SAW (85-92) style.
Only the track#5 "I" from saw 85-92 has the same SAW II
style, imo. Isn't it?

One of my favs saw 85-92' songs...

Yeah I added "I" too.

Xtal is fucking lush, I wish the sound quality was better
though (but thats the beauty of it I reckon).

*** Selected Ambient Works 3 (ep) ***

Richard could release this new ambient album (with old
tracks...)

1) On (28 mix)
2) Track#11 (cd version only)
3) Quino-Phec
4) I - Saw 85-92
5) Gwely Mernans (what about this, arch?)

XTALs one of the one mastered from cassette hence the
slightly muffled sound qual...

but yeah, I think thats half the charm of it...it's rough &
dirty & beautiful & noisy all at the same time (like a lot
of AFXs best stuff...)...

How about some of the smaller Drukqs interlude tracks for
SAWIII??..they'd fit on real well..

mmmnnn-yeah i love the interlude tracks off drukqs-ive put
em all on one minidisc and you get a nice thirty minute
album out of em-great for when you crash in bed...yep, i is
a quality track-thats the charm of some of the saw 1
works-the casette distortion adds to the charm and gives it
a 'kid mucking about in their bedroom' feel which is cosy.
id add track three off saw 2 to my ep and blue calx-absolute
lush genius ;>

Just imagine all the outtake tracks (that's where the 28mix
of On came from) from SAW2 that Richard did not use.

SAW2 was going to be a triple CD originally, but then
decided against it.

i would rape my own mother to get a un-released copy of
SAW3...

do some crazy sheeiot

No, I don't want to use existing tracks to make a SAW3...
BLASPHEMY!

I really want Richard to make a brand new SAW, using his
CURRENT attitude/personality/whatever. No outtakes... I
wonder what he'd conjure up now...

But he said himself that ambient bores him, so he doesn't do
it anymore. :-(

Now I understand where all the ambient tracks come from... I
didn't know about a third sawII cd.

offline Mike from Leeds (United Kingdom) on 2002-02-06 07:38 [#00081198]

Hmm... I'm not sure about SAWIII... I think he covered it
mostly with his other ambient albums, we don't need a third
(IMO).
PROGRESS, my friends, is the key. Fuck Global Goon.. fuck
drukqs... fuck Boards Of Canada's new album.

Yay for Planet Mu and all the other labels releasing good

I bought global Goon's new album and it was SHIT. It's all
been done before... so boring.
