Hi, kids, it's been a while, but don't think I am not
coming here because I have stopped loving you. It's just
that the amount of work here keeps increasing.. and
increasing and increasing ad infinitum...

In any case, I wanted to get some opinions of my new tunes,
that are made in an attempt to have them played as
background for "art" videos at Sydney train stops...

I would be very interested in your opinions, since it's you
guys who listen to this electronic music all the time,
right?

Anyway, the first one is called Earth Zero

http://www.ren-ga.com/DJ_Meho_-_Earth_Zero.mp3

The other one is called Pek Minik Melek

http://www.ren-ga.com/DJ_Meho_-_Pek_Minik_Melek.mp3

There are some Primus, Iron Maiden and Placebo samples in
there but I don't think you'll be able to recognise them
(well, except maybe for the Primus one). In any case, all
your opinions good, bad and abusive will be much
appreciated. Thank you guys.

Yeah, sorry for the confused mind over here. I am reading a
huge pile of very shitty projects, so my attention is very
divided and your avatars confused me.

hehehehe.

I like the second track. It's almost triphoppy in a good
way. I might like the first one more if I heard it in
context with its video...

Why are there to be art videos at Sydney train stops?

Apparently , my friend who does these videos has managed to
persuade those-in-power that it'd be nice to have "arty"
videos among all the advertisements and they decided that,
yes, this is a good idea as long as they don't have to pay
him anything. He used to have those going in Sydney trams
before this...

Anyways, thanks for the effort to listen to my crappy
attempts at music making..

That's so cool! There are little kids who will grow up and
say hey, remember those wild music videos from the Sydney
train stops?

IF my music contributions get accepted. The other artists my
friend works with make a lot better music, mind you.

what are the videos about?

Mostly abstract stuff. He likes making familiar stuff look
strange... We made one very successful collaboration several
months ago, but there my music was mostly soundscape (no
beats, no loops). I wanted to make more "friendly" music
this time around...

I mean "friendly sounding", of course.

i listened to pek minik melek, stylistically it's not
something i would ordinarily enjoy. reminded of some scorn,
and has a dark and shadowy soundtrack feel as well. it
sounds good, decently produced with a lot of atmosphere. i
want to say it's too repetitive, but the fact is if i
enjoyed what was repeating i wouldn't mind the repetition.

sorry i don't have any productive criticisms, but i gave it
a shot...

No, it's cool. Yes, the Scorn reference is rather fair I
think, my mind was mostly clicking back to Scorn/ Spectre/
DJ Krush while I was making it... It definitely IS
repetitive, especially the coda (the whole second half. I
mean, there is some action there as well, but my main idea
was actually to keep repeating the soothing pattern on top
of the mix... Thanks for the efforts.

opinions on porn
there should be more of them

Porno films are movie movies. Karate films are movie
movies. Fred Astaire films are movie movies. I scared my
wife recently by saying that I should be the first director
to make a real porno movie.
