There are lots of nice underground parties in London, but all my friends are dicks who either leave early, don't dance, or are completely unrealiable.
I am a loner.

Yeah, I think that'd be a good idea.
I'd rather go alone, EXPECTING to be alone, then invite some people and have them leave after half an hour because "there aren't enough people" (hello? More people come in later!) or because they "forgot that house party they were meant to go to."
grrr.

definitely worse..this one time i was supposed to go with two friends, but just before we were to meet they said they're going to some fancy club instead...ofcourse, i went to a gig alone but i was in a bad mood all night coz of it...therefore from then on i rather go alone. but i never go alone to a gig when it's out of town/country - that would suck a bit :)

Heheh....nice to know someone who's had a similar shitty experience.
You've inspired me...to attend these things alone from now on. Unless there's a garantee some of 'em will stay.
There have been good experiences, where we've partied all night long, but as soon as it gets a bit too "underground"(i.e-no visuals, not many people, grimey venue, other clubs open) people just fuck off.

Wtf if everyone did that parties would get nowhere. They need to learn to tough it out and make it a good situation

If you are alone you can hit on the "female only group" which consists of aproximately 4 or 5 girls that went together to the party because all the guys they knew were assholes as the people you speak of.

i never went to a rave in my life so far... the first time i went to a bar was like 8 months ago... the last film i saw in cinema was return of the king...
when i think of it, i think, "i must be a geek". after all, i spend a lot of time on computers. but actually i don't know shit about computers coding etc. then i think, "maybe i'm an otaku then". after all, i am studying japanese. but actually i don't know a lot about manga and anime either, and i could live without them. then i think, "am i a total loser then??". and, em...

First rave I went to I was 13/14 and it was in a warehouse somewhere between here and Manchester. It was good. These days I am too old to go to 'raves' and spend my time inhabitng either my local or a trendy middle class bar full of people I would quite happily decapitate in an area I have no wish to be in.

the thing is it's nice to share experiences, which is kinda hard if you're alone. I dunno, I'm not sure raving on your own would be too fun. But I'll try it next friday at Electrowerkz (there's some "Dissonance" thing on.)

my first serious girlfriend dumped me a week or so after i left to go to college. we'd dated for a year or so, and she immediately started dating one of my best friends. so, that was awkard/sucky.
a couple of months later we went to a 'rave' that pomme was playing at in tennessee. i rode with the ex and her man/my friend. i drank a whole lot of jack danniels and beer. on the way back i puked in her back seat.
in the morning i went out to her car to clean it and there was no puke anywhere in the car. there was also no puke anywhere on my clothes except for a small spot on the cuff.
it was a phantom puke.
that's my story about raves.

Well I dunno what you'd call them, since rave is apparently incorrect.
Basically, events like Planet Mu/Rephlex/Warp parties.
I'm going to Dissonance in Electrowerkz this friday.

i went to a 'rave party' last saturday night. man oh man.. i had to force myself to get really really drunk because it was so painful being there. but i coudln't leave because the friend i went with had to help out with some stuff. but we got a free open tab though.
but man! the rave kids these days are just retarded. this one girl was dressed all candy raver style and her walk was so messed up, probably from too much e, but she looked so retarded and i kept running into her all night. *cringe*

I like the freedom of expression there! I love the fact people can wear the most bizzare things, "dance" in the most ridiculous way imaginable, and nobody cares...there's none of this trying to fit in or conforming to what's cool crap.
Saying that, the last thing I attended had a bit of a rudeboy element which was annoying.
