back in 1918, on this day, Veterans Day was established

today, and everyday...

Thank a veteran or someone serving in the military.

They have given us many freedoms we take for granted.

*Raises American Flag

americans have a strange sense of pride for their veterans

I dont think I owe anything to those who fought in battles
in the past, world would eb diferent today if they hadnt
fought?? probably... but not worse than it is now

Today was Armistice Day in the UK, where we honour all those
service people who died. It is customary to hold a period
of silence at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month every
year. The significance of this date was it was the time and
date that the peace treaty following the first world war was
signed.

No it commemorates all those who died in the war and has
been entended to all service men and women who have died in
active duty defending the greatest nation in the world
(England) and all it own's (Scotland, Wales) and all it
illegally occupies (Northern Ireland).

I dont really feel I owe anything to those who fought in a
war... my grandpas fought in the civil war and I dont feel I
owe them my actual confort... my life probably would be
better if that war hadnt existed... and if people hadnt
fought there would have been no war... I would not fucking
take part in a war... before I would just leave to another
place

Why don't we have a janitor's day or lawyer's day or

well, I understand that if your country is being invaded,
then people fight for their country or lifes or whatever...
but I odnt feel proud of the people who fighted... I feel
proud of the people that discovered gravity. electricity,
radio, inernet, new medicines... those I am proud of... the
others where just part of a sad past... I would never fight
for my country...cos I have no country... country is
nothing... I would search for another place where I could
live

LOL. What a tool, no offense, but seriously.

So you will reap benefits of a country, and for those who
FOUGHT to GIVE you those rights, then when time comes to MAN
UP and STICK UP for those rights for people like CHILDREN
and your GRANDCHILDREN, you are gonna run outa the country?

LOL, wow. Must be nice.

offline Rostasky from United States on 2004-11-11 14:53 [#01391890]
Points: 1572 Status: Lurker

But, those people (maybe not the best examples, but janitor
is a good enough one) are much more important to society.
Several countries don't have a standing army, no countries
do not have janitors.

offline Rostasky from United States on 2004-11-11 14:55 [#01391892]

Elusive, those people don't give us those rights. What
rights have I gained from people fighting in Iraq?

saying you dont HAVE a country is one of the most gutless,
pussy things i've ever heard anyone says.

No one is gonna agree 100% with the country they live in.
But no matter where you go, it's not going to be perfect.
If you are a fukin MAN and not a little girl then maybe you
wouldn't run away from your problems in your country
(whatever they may be).

And nacmat, what happens when someone comes and pushes you
around. You gonna packup your home, your children, and jet
for another country, only to have it happen again?

LAFF!

I know what you mean but i view everyone as equal.

The guy working at the gas station and the CEO of some
company are the same to me.

They make society function.

say what ?????????????????????????????

if hitler would have won wwII, would this be a better place
?

i dont know about your country but here in america, i live
in the most freedom country in the world, im free to do
about anything i choose to, there are penalties for illegal
actions of course.

but america is the freeist (sp?) country in the world

everyone is free

wether you choose your freedom, or choose to be enshackeled
by societies opinions is another story

people are FREE to move up/down social classes, that cannot
be said in a lot of other countries

LET FREEDOM RING.

if someone hits me, I dont hit him back... I leave... if he
hits me, probably his life is shit, mine is not, I dont need
to hit anybody to feel like a real man

maybe I am a little girl like you say... but again, I think
you have the concept of war very much inside your brains,
like if it where the only way to survive to the enemie...
when probably there would be no enemie

"i live in the most freedom country in the world"

Its funny you put freedom there. Maybe its because the word

You've obviously never experienced real oppression. I find
it pretty sad that you don't feel you have a strong cultural
identity. I am British and if I needed to fight to defend
my nation, my freedom and my people then I would do it.

In my opinion it would be easy to oppress you because you
won fight back.

If someone hits me, i am swinging on em. Unless my friends
hit me because that shit happens all of the time.
