ok, name me 1 simple everyday object that you have
lying around in your house or something that you can use for
2 different things. that object can for
example be a broken object that you can't use for it's
original purpose but can be great for 2 other totally
unrelated things.
we need to bring such an object to class but I'm having
trouble finding one. any help and serious reply's are much
appreciated.

a wooden door, maybe?

you can use the wood for different things, for example -
make a small cupboard out of it or use it for a small fire
(to cook or warmth).

the idea is that you think of 2 new uses, not just
one new use besides the intended use.

A paper clip. It can be un-bent to use to pick at teeth, and
to burst particularly large spots

lady for cool ET Stomach effects.

Also you could kill yourself with a towel.

the drying yourself is what it is intended for, so that
doesn't count.

the killing yourself less so, I believe, so that would
count.

on the other hand, the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
would say that the towel is one of the most versatile
instruments in the universe, so I think you'll find "killing
yourself" is probably listed under it's uses.

I read it as the broken ones having two new uses.

Broken vase:

Impomptu Knife

Cast in cement to cover the top of a wall

smash it over someone's head or

quickly move it when someone is about to sit down, causing
pain and humility, two of my favourite things.

I like to do that. but then I do it to myself (because doing
stuff to yourself feels so good..!) and it's not so
funny anymore, is it, Alex, IS IT?

I was talking to myself, in a decidedly insane way, much in
the style of a Hammer horror film starring Peter Cushing.
