If you feel the spirit and fun is leaving Xltronic, you
really don't have to hang around here. There are other
messageboards that you could frequent arent there?

Qrter: I aslo think that there is an underlying tone of your
disliking for me as a board member when you also pass
remarks. And in response to Virginpushers comment, I would
almost certainly have to disagree with at least one of his
nominations, and probably for the same reason 'deep down' as
yours :)

Jedi Chris got elected mod a few days ago. Some member
didn't like that decision, so they protested by being mean
to Jedi Chris. A few members were temp banned because of
this. The statement was made that the board was going to be
moderated more strictly starting now. People didn't like
that, and continue to protest, although desent seems to be
fading somewhat.

I dont think anyone should leave. I think that stuff and
attitudes like "like it or leave it" really hurt a
community.

moderating is harder than we think, that I tell you

I once asked phobia to be a mod and he told me I was not the
best option, now I understand him, its really hard to deal
with all people evenhaveing to bann people that you like...
and as well as I think he was right with me, I also think he
is right about jedi chris, he will do a great job I am sure,
cos he is a nice person and he enjoys being here and has
some good friends in this place... so he knows the spirit of
the place (although some of you doubt that, I dont)

I respect the moderators here cos they do a great job.

we have already mentioned xcque and ophecks, but pomme was
great when he was here and ceri is a great moderator too.

its a pitty that jand is not here often cos he is wise
enough to deal with this

the moderating team here is excellent imo, but this are
indeed hard times....

dont worry guys, this will pass over its always the same,
its all cycles

so. some people are being cocks about something they can't
control yea?

I think it's a fine desision myself!

For those protesting:

The landlord of pub can change the environment and his staff
as he sees fit. If you don't like the pub anymore, then
leave. If the pub generates profit loss because of its
desision, landlord suffers, not you.

get over it guys.

Well unfortunately Phobiazero is in charge, and when he
means there is gonna be less trash here, then you're just
gonna have to deal with it. Sorry if this displeases you,
and others but the few that have trashed this place are the
ones responsible!

"I think that stuff and attitudes like "like it or leave
it" really hurt a community.
"

I agree. I mean, fundamentally, that may very well be the
way it works around here. but, for mods to be tossing that
mindset around so much... it really puts a bad vibe in the
air.

you guys owe us nothing, and, of course, you can run the
show how you see fit, but it reflects heavilly on how much
you value your visitors when you discourage discussion about
the board by saying if you don't like it, fuck off!

if thats true, then why have this be a FREE site, make it a
mandatory pay site,it solves the problems you mention, that
way if people got banned they lose their money,
right now, who cares if one gets banned? you can just come
back with a diff name/email.

Yes, there are other messageboards, but they suck compared
to xltronic, at least before the "New Seriousness" phase.
What do you expect here? Some kind of Instand Mod-Ban-Fest
isn't going to change the personalities of the regular
posters. Things have gotten pretty fucked lately... it's not
only non-worksafe threads / posts that are disappearing, and
to be honest, i'm not entirely sure why.

Yes, phobiazero does have ultimo-awesome-power here,
but i'm not sure that excercising it in this way is
"productive" (for fear of using a pretty loaded buzz-word
right there). A dream of the "perfect" IDM board doesn't
make it more likely to happen, and a ban/delete orgy isn't
the way to go about it. Eye Emm Haytch Ohh.

Adding 1 new moderator right now isn't going to solve
anything and neither is enforcing strict rules.

There was a great level a couple of years ago when there was
always a mod around and people still posted inane stuff
without it going overboard and shit like the current events
happening.

The list of mods is a joke as most of them don't actually
visit the board anymore. I can't say if they work behind the
scenes or not but the point of mods is that they're actually
present on the board and that's not happening.

I know Ceri has a new job and can't really browse the board
from work and no home net access so he can't really moderate
the board.

Pomme I have no idea where he is.

Jand has made about 3 threads stating he'll be around more
but that's all we hear from him. This is a shame as he was a
fantastic mod and had some of the greatest musical
knowledge.

Chapman....?

Xanatos pops up randomly to bump the already pinned gallery
thread and to tell us his brother dated Paris Hilton or
something.

Sine 707 is AWOL and I rarely remember seeing him here in
the first place.

Tunemx pops in to tell us he's changed something. If I
remember rightly he's hella busy with work

Phob, you also were busy and your home net access was
screwed I think. You're here now though so I'm assuming it's
fixed. You used to be an almost permanent feature here!

Gonzola has been around sporadically.

Ophecks isn't here as much as he used to be. Once again this
is a shame as he's as fair a mod as you could hope for.

Andreas I have no idea who they are!

djfony is an unknown

archcarrier is another unknown

xceque is here more often of late and that's a good thing as
he's another good mod.

I think that's all of them. I can't remember to be honest.
Looking back at that list though you can see that most of
them just aren't regulars here and that's where the problem
lies.

I've probably written a load of bollocks there.

Oh yeah and an edit post feature REALLY is needed. A lot of

That ain't no bollocks, matey, that's pretty bloody
insightful.

Moderation of the board needs to be by people on the
board, not by somebody who's been vociferous in their
distaste for most xlt members in the past, and who's said
they're pretty disinterested in electronic music.

Again, Eye Emm Haytch Ohh. Or something.

I'm around most days. I pop on for a minute or two at
various times of the day when I've got the time, just to see
if anything crazy is going on. I'll stop it when I see it,
but there's bound to be times when things slip by.

It's also quite tricky judging when that line of
acceptability is crossed, so often I'll let things through
and keep an eye out, or give a warning. I only temp ban as a
last resort, or if someone is obviously trolling or using a
dupe account. I've only perm banned once, I think. Maybe
twice.

well, it's no secret I do not like you much and part of why
I don't like you is the same reason why I don't think you
are the best choice for a mod - to me you seem to have
little connection to the board and the people who frequent
it most.

I know, it's phobiazero's choice and I'm not going to loose
a night's sleep over it.. but I don't think it's the
strongest statement he could've made. I hope you get more
affection with people here, I guess.

on myself being a mod - HA! I wouldn't want to be a mod,
believe me. it wouldn't be very good for the board, I
think.

besides, I think hell would freeze over before Phobia would
consider me.

which is pretty much what I thought what happen before he
would ask you to be mod, coincidentally..

ok here you have my opinion coz all of teh fuckin time i was
just watching this shit going on here. you wanna have strict
mb ? then ban all of us coz every one of us is in part
responsible for whats going on. you wanna be a strict mod ?
please, first ban yourself for rudness on soulseek - i still
dont get how someone who can easily say "WE ARE THE BEST THE
REST IS CRAP" in serious way can be a mod. and in serious
way coz shit me if i saw you joking here, besides LOL's,
:)'s and greetings.

thats to you mr flash fisher-price jedi. buy yourself a real
sword, and gimme a reason. i havent seen you enough even to
say HI , now youre a mod. i dont give a shit whats between
phobs and you , but at least what are reason for making YOU
a mod, eh ? star wars fanatism ? dont think so.

now,m due to rules posted in FAQ. if you would like to bring
law and order, first you need to bring EQUAL RIGHTS. im not
a philosopher, but even child knows that NO EUQL RIGHTS =
MESS. how the fuck you wanna have strict mb when people see
injustice in mods behaviour ? how many innocent ppl was
banned ? and for what ? and while this, how many those who
desevre to be banned are still here ? and dont give me shit
like "ok so who else do you want me to ban" . ban all of us,
invite new silly 16year old wankarz in love with aphex twin
that even dont know who is beethoven, then tell them to shut
up and you will have a strict mb.

stict ! hitler wanted to have strict world too. shame he
wanted good but others didnt understood him, aight ? silly.

so what do we have now ? shortly - chris is a mod, no one
likes the idea, but FUCK OFF !! ITS A PRIVATE BOARD<
AIGHT?
. oh, and no matter that by past months weve had
a real comic book here - NOW WE WILL SHOW YOU THE RULES
!!!

shame, but this is how i see this shit.
and you wanna know something more sad ? here :
more stuff coming soon people. i just cant wait.

PS. thank you. B7
