i'm gonna try this again, and hope that they've fixed the
stupid widget problem in Mac OS X

if not, it shall be deleted instantly

although, i've been using the Preview Release, (or whatever
they're calling it), and it is just as stable as teh fox
ever was.

it's been my primary browser for knocking on two years now i
guess.

1.0 looks to me like it's going to be a very solid debut
too. the improved popup bar, ctrl+f, and plugin handling
are really slick. it absolutely destroys the competition
imo.

beware, this is not actually a 1.0 release.

it's 1.0 PR (Preview Release).

there are still bugs that they know of, that will be fixed
before 1.0.

no they haven't fixed it

top picture is how it looks in FireFox running under OS X
(with incorrect widgets)

bottom pic is how it looks in Safari running under OS X
(with correct widgets)

are you sure that's a bug?

i think it may be that gecko is letting the xltronic CSS
override the default widgets... which, i believe, is the
correct behavior.

this may be a case of safari strong arming w3c standards.

i could very well be wrong though.

no, it's a case of FireFox not adhering to the Mac OS X GUI
standards: all widgets should have the Aqua interface

it's the same when running under a certain window manager in
*NIX / Linux

regardless of the CSS, the widgets should be the same as the
widgets in the rest of the GUI

that's why in Konquerer the widgets will reflect whatever
theme you have installed

i mean, the w3c standard allows for CSS to define how
buttons look.

it seems to me that if safari overrides the CSS, then it is
taking control away from what the designer intended... but,
that's just the way i see it.

Konquerer and safari both share the same rendering engine
(khtml) more or less... so, it goes to reason that they'd
render pages similarly.

it's not safari, because it works correctly in any other
browser for Mac OS X

i only have the problem with FireFox

wierd. i tried to replicate your bug, but all i got was a
normal reply box and buttons. i won't be changing browser
though, firefox looks crap compared to the lovelyness of
safari.
beats me what is wrong in your case.

that IS the bug i have!!

the buttons that you have in your screenshot shouldn't be
showing in the Mac OS X version of FireFox, because the GUI
.

it's either a bug, or FireFox is intentionally using
non-standard widgets under OS X. and until it's sorted out,
i refuse to use it. i'm using OS X because i don't wanna
have to look at windows style widgets
