do laptops have overheating issues anymore?

if so, it seems like this really compact desktop style would
have just as many if not more.... either that, or their
power is scaled back to compensate.

it looks pretty though.

Looks nice... I don't buy into the flatscreen craze and I
bet most of the iMac customers don't need one at all. But
people like them so it seems to be working to stick one on
the iMac.

I really don't care for having the computer inside the
monitor. Might as well just get a laptop, really.

am I the only one who doesn't think macs look nice?

to me they look overdesigned.

the three or four inches of negative space below the screen
is distracting.

Heh, yeah, there are definitely a ton of designers who must
be getting paid way too much.

i think it's pretty nice looking overall... and very unique.
i think for the last 5 or 6 years (or however long it's
been since the 1st iMacs & steve jobs' return), apples
design team is at least 75% responsible for their renewed
glory.

they've done a great job branding themselves with this
minimalism.

I wonder how much you pay for design when you buy a Mac.

Macs are quality, though. Good comps, but it's a rich mans
game.

Apple are the creators of iPod, therefore it follows that
the new iMac has been created by Apple. Hardly headline
news.

It looks OK though.

i dislike that whit chunk. it would look better if it had a
very thin whit moniter border and the chunk was hidden on
the back.

The previous imac (which i own) looks better i think,
although the new design will probably grow on me.

Having said that, when I do change my computer it will be
for a G5 Powerbook in a year or two and i'll have a 17"
desktop monitor for working at home. Of course thats
assuming i'm a well paid Graphic Designer by then :)

"well paid Graphic Designer"

Is there such a thing? :)

well if your good at it

meh...as child810 said, the previous imac (which i own as
well) is nicer. i bet when you plug in
firewire/usb/speakers/ethernet to the back, it limits the
movement of the display. seems like it would be a potential
annoyance.

that display would sit waaaaay to high for my desk. don't
like that you can't adjust the height of it, only the tilt.

i like the slot loading rom drive though, that's about it.
maybe i'm just jealous. ...no. no, i'm not.
