Two older records, "Kill the king" and "The sea org" have
been rereleased..

"All releases will be packaged in the now familiar Hafler
Trio "wallet", with new booklets which will extend the
previous examples with previously unseen textual and
photographic 'evidence', and re-instate that essential
material missing from or corrupted by the Grey Area of Mute
re-releases from a few years ago, thankfully now
deleted."

specifically about "The sea org":

"Originally released in 1987 by Touch as a 10" record,
sold out since many years and once part of 'The Golden
Hammer' series, now re-issued in the most definite version.
Including four extra tracks, one video (in .mov format), 28
page booklet, poster and postcard."

third reissue in this series on Korm Plastics has been..
erm.. issued - Mastery of Money.

not at warpmart (as of yet), but have seen it at
staalplaat.com, in fact, to be exact: here.

there's no picture, but the packaging should be as lush as
the other two reissues - "..including a new and revised
28 page booklet, poster and postcard"
.

not bad at 14 euro's (excluding VAT), too.

the question is: would you want to?

The Man Who Tried To Disappear

A House Waiting For Its Master

A Small Child Dreams of Voiding the Plague

The Concentrated Recapturing of Thought

Right Here Where You Are Sitting Now

... they all sound pretty badass to me... maybe only because
Mr. Serious is saying them....

oh my gosh, yet another delicious reissue on Korm Plastics,
this time it's "how to reform mankind", which together with "kill the
king" and "mastery of money" forms a trilogy.

"What's more fun than being at the most marvellous of
parties? Being told about it by someone else. and here are
all the juicy details about who did to whom, when and where,
and who *didn't* know about
it. The dish is served, and the beads of moisture are now
visible on the glass. They said it couldn't be done, and it
very nearly wasn't, but we soon took the smirk of THEIR
faces, now didn't we? A cornucopia of delight, especially
with absent friends in mind, and indeed. you may never be
the same.
and someone else may not be either.

With the re-issue of 'How To Reform Mankind' we complete the
trilogy that also holds 'Mastery Of Money' and 'Kill The
King'. Originally released in 1992 by Touch, now finally
seen as should be, including a 24 page booklet, poster and
postcard."

i got how to reform mankind in the post this morning, whoo.
the whole trilogy really is quite amazing - my favourite
being mastery of money i think. i wonder which one
korm plastics will do next, i'm looking forward to a
thirsty fish most - hopefully the fourth side not on the
grey area cd will be included.

the anti group thing featuring andrew mckenzie released on
die stadt is apparently out now too, although die stadt's
distribution isn't too hot it seems so will be a while
before i see it. the few anti group things i've heard have
been consistantly awesome. also the willem de ridder with
hafler trio 'box'. the snuff thing they did is also very
interesting.

it's amazing he can release so many quality releases so
quickly. if/when it stops it'll be weird not always looking
forward to the next new hafler trio release.

I've only heard their collaboration with ae and it was
basically reverby drones. Is the rest of their music
similar?

the earlier stuff is more to do with tape loops (like a
thirsty fish / 'bang' an open letter). the stuff discussed
in this thread is from around early 90's - if i can attempt
to describe the sound it's... hm, as you listen to it you
get the impression it is something important if that
makes any sense -- as if you were having a dream and
something of great magnitude dawned on you. um, yeah- quite
drone like at times. juxtoposition of moods? mood
engineering maybe?

with the recent stuff like ae3o/h3ae it is more focused i
think on the single evolving sound being an entity in
itself. i don't know, the last time i listened to that one
specifically was on shrooms and it was as if the drone was
the center of the universe, this big glistening
undescribable thing, i'll never forget it probably. i think
there's a lot more to it than 'reverby drones', i would have
thought that they have control over every sound. maybe it
was done in max/msp or something - like a big evolving
organism represented in sound. or something, i don't know at
all really of course.

i heartily recommend though that anyone check out some of
it. these reissues would be as good a place as any to start.
nice packaging too.

I started off with masturbatorium and liked it a lot. "How

like "mosquito dream" (was it you who recommended that on
here?) you'll like the hafler trio.
