who was there?
i was totally blown away , amazing, he hid behind one of the
projectors , you could see him and his mates pissing around
behind it. they took notice of myself and my mate who just
sat infront of them blazing spliff , which was most fun.

did anyone bootleg it? it was really stellar , totally
different to the last couple of things he has realeased ,
such a shame he won't release all the stuf fhe played , it
was kind of ravey but not really yr standard shitty four to
the flour beats at all of course.

i found it funny that the tent was half empty for aphex ...
what a strange world.

anyone know when he is going to hit london again? its hell
finding out harh.

sounds good...

"such a shame he won't release all the stuf fhe played"

um, how can you tell it was his stuff? i mean normally he
doesn't play his own stuff??
i hope he releases something soon though :)

chances are i was standing right next to you, sir! i was
directly opposite aphex by the bar at the front for the
whole set (also having a smoke, incidentally :p).
awesome. that was the best aphex set i've ever seen - he was
concentrating 100% throughout. so well crafted - the
progression from the clicks and blips at the beginning to
full blown gabba by the end. i *really* hope someone
recorded it.

squarepusher's set was ace too - i have no idea how he
managed to make to hook his laptop up to his bass to make
all the beats just using the guitar.
he's the fucking daddy. 'nuff said :p.

all in all, an awesome weekend.... looking forward to next
year already - w00t!

well i saw him using his laptop and well it just sounded
like AFX , so i doubt it was someone else's stuff. Lets just
hope he releases is it eh! - when is this new release out ,
i've read about a 3x12" release ..

haha dude probably so , i was 'bout 5-10 metres away from
RDJ the whole time , to stoned to dance. Did you see the
shapes his mates were throwing?

But yeah , this really was another level , it was amongst
the best aphex i've ever heard.

I was stunned by SP too , that tune when it was literally
all on bass , that was done mainly with a delay pedal i
think and he was just doing pick scrapes and stuff ... what
a musician man , that guy was just insane , nice suit too !

did afx played anything new/different from his dnb/acid
stuff he used to play/release, or it was just classic afx
style but better than ever?

well i have nearly all of his stuff on vinyl and it sounded
pretty new to me , to me it was kind of a mix between his
acid stuff and his more trademark drill n'bass kind of thing
, i mean its more simple than alot of the stuff he releases
as Aphex Twin , but fuck the beats were the best i've ever
heard by him , 100 fucking percent. And yeah it kind of
morphed , it was like one long tune , perhaps with one break
or two , if you know the boredoms , or rather v00rdoms these
days , it was structured like their recent gigs somewhat.
but yeah it was fucking sick , thats the best way to
describe it i think! It was all pretty fast ish , between
120-60 BPM roughly ...

I really doubt there was much of his own stuff in there... a
few drukqs tracks appeared in various forms and the set was
excellent, although the first 20 minutes were a little slow
I thought... the second hour was really fucking amazing
though. I swear he didn't look at the crowd or anyone on the
stage hardly at all, maybe I was looking at a different
long-haired bearded instantly-recognisable DJ.

As for Squarepusher... as usual, a nice bit of shouting in
the mic and a generally brilliant set... I have no idea how
he does that drum thing with his bass. Tetra-Sync was
fantastic live, and Journey To Reedham went down a treat.
And I caught his empty can of Kronenberg 1664, which I don't
really know what to do with.

got dreds.

I was right infront of Richard when he played :D
we were so close :)

well you should have thrown it back at him...although, that
perhaps wouldn't be the best idea. he has an real attitude
problem apperantly :)

NOT TO MENTION, I REALLY WANT TO HEAR THAT AFX SET.

fucking shrooms made me totally forget what afx's set was
like!

firstly i spent 40 mins staring at the main stage while he
was off on the side playing- so i wan't sure it was him.
When we went over to where he was playing behind that
psy-fish, i ended up just dancing like a nutter, meeting
some other irish folks and not taking a single piece of
music in. its criminal really.
