yeah.. thats my band there! listen to some songs, we have a
different style going on for a few of those songs and they
are rough quality, we are doing our cross canada tour this
summer and look forward to some feedback, also an actual
recording with a split cd with another american band.

Death. Send a CD to John Peel

i hate "joke covers" - sorry.

your band certainly has potential - much better than most
other indie metal bands i've heard. maybe the recording
doesn't do them justice, but i think your fast songs need to
be faster and your slow song(s) need to be slower. the
low-growly-singing guy is quite good.

out with the old and overdrive are my favorites. i didn't
listen to the two more scatological tracks because those are
gross titles.

please don't take this as negative comments - i'm just
trying to be constructive. clearly, you don't need help
anyway since your band is touring canada. good luck!

r40f: hahahaha ok thanks for the comments, its nice to hear
such things, yeah...

i dont expect too many good comments from people here
considering this is a electro/idm type messageboard.... im
really excited for our band cause we are actually going some
places with it, just exactly where I dont know... a real
album will be nice.

basicly. We are doing some show(s) in Vancouver coming up in
August. check it out.

dariusgriffin: well not everyone can like everything,
obviously there are more than enough people that like us if
we can easily support a tour across the biggest country in

So far i have listened to "shitting on a paper plate" and
"stomping on a rookie cop".

Good riffage on stomping, i dig it. I would like to hear
better quality of these tracks because currently i feel like
i am listening to the murder junkies. :D

"shitting on a paper plate" was funny. I think i might have
learned the lyrics.

this music is in a very closed genre. saying you're going
somewhere with it is like a kid hoping he wins the spelling
bee.

no one will notice or care other than close friends and
relatives.

that said, i hope you have good luck!

optimus prime: how is that? if your actually serious it
shows what you know... *ahem, not very much. youve done this
first hand and "gone somewhere" but realised it was nothing?
or.. your just saying bullshit? either way i find it
hilarious.

virginpusher:: thanks a lot man, I was waiting for you to
listen to this stuff cause I know you enjoy this type of
shit. thanks for the praise and whatnot.. we will have much
better recordings after the month long tour.

If it's funny I don't think I get it, and if it's real music
then I don't think I get it either. I'm not entirely
convinced of any reason anyone would want to listen to it,
that's all.

There are some pretty experimental aggressive bands out
there but I agree that as a genre it's pretty stagnant.
Nothing has the intensity of a good extreme metal/hardcore
album though.

offline plaidzebra from so long, xlt on 2004-07-08 21:06 [#01270894]

i'd much prefer something like merzbow for intensity...

no silly demonic-fx vocals or songs about infections or
autopsies...

offline r40f from qrters tea party on 2004-07-08 21:13 [#01270896]

you guys don't really think that godawful is representative
of every metal band there is, do you? all the different
types of metal - it all sounds exactly the same? none is
better or worse or different? hmm...

offline Doomed Puppy from on and off and on and off and on 2004-07-08 21:24 [#01270905]
Points: 1818 Status: Addict

As you wrote it's just another effect... vocals of this kind
tend to be a part of the music since one can't make out the
lyrics anyway. There are many groups of that kind that do
not incorporate gory or generaly silly lyrics and they tend
to be the most interesting ones. Maybe that reflects the
need of the musicians to have more aspects to their
creations. I have to repeat that there are bands that have a
very interesting approach to their genre reinventing it some
times. They create beautiful soundscapes and change moods
(so to speak) and dynamics creating a very intense listen
while usually being quite more varied than good old merzbow.
I am quite eclectic myself to tell you the truth but a few
math/noise rock influenced hardcore bands are worth
listening at.

offline r40f from qrters tea party on 2004-07-08 21:31 [#01270915]

i respectfully disagree with the premise that lyrics in
metal are relevant at all, except perhaps as an aesthetic.

i'm not trying to change anyone's opinion about metal, in
part because i don't like most of it myself, but try to be a
little open-minded and don't discount an entire genre of ANY
music just because you haven't heard much of it.

it's much more constructive to learn about different musics
and make more educated decisions about specific pieces or
artists.
