i hate "joke covers" - sorry.
your band certainly has potential - much better than most other indie metal bands i've heard. maybe the recording doesn't do them justice, but i think your fast songs need to be faster and your slow song(s) need to be slower. the low-growly-singing guy is quite good.
out with the old and overdrive are my favorites. i didn't listen to the two more scatological tracks because those are gross titles.
please don't take this as negative comments - i'm just trying to be constructive. clearly, you don't need help anyway since your band is touring canada. good luck!

i dont expect too many good comments from people here considering this is a electro/idm type messageboard.... im really excited for our band cause we are actually going some places with it, just exactly where I dont know... a real album will be nice.

So far i have listened to "shitting on a paper plate" and "stomping on a rookie cop".
Good riffage on stomping, i dig it. I would like to hear better quality of these tracks because currently i feel like i am listening to the murder junkies. :D
"shitting on a paper plate" was funny. I think i might have learned the lyrics.

this music is in a very closed genre. saying you're going somewhere with it is like a kid hoping he wins the spelling bee.
no one will notice or care other than close friends and relatives.
that said, i hope you have good luck!

There are some pretty experimental aggressive bands out there but I agree that as a genre it's pretty stagnant. Nothing has the intensity of a good extreme metal/hardcore album though.

i'd much prefer something like merzbow for intensity...
no silly demonic-fx vocals or songs about infections or autopsies...

As you wrote it's just another effect... vocals of this kind tend to be a part of the music since one can't make out the lyrics anyway. There are many groups of that kind that do not incorporate gory or generaly silly lyrics and they tend to be the most interesting ones. Maybe that reflects the need of the musicians to have more aspects to their creations. I have to repeat that there are bands that have a very interesting approach to their genre reinventing it some times. They create beautiful soundscapes and change moods (so to speak) and dynamics creating a very intense listen while usually being quite more varied than good old merzbow. I am quite eclectic myself to tell you the truth but a few math/noise rock influenced hardcore bands are worth listening at.

i respectfully disagree with the premise that lyrics in metal are relevant at all, except perhaps as an aesthetic.
i'm not trying to change anyone's opinion about metal, in part because i don't like most of it myself, but try to be a little open-minded and don't discount an entire genre of ANY music just because you haven't heard much of it.
it's much more constructive to learn about different musics and make more educated decisions about specific pieces or artists.
