a little plastic box ;)

soundguy - don't listen to that mad man ;) definitely check
Postal Service! i received it as a present last year, and it
quickly became one of the favourite records in my
collection! it sounds electronic+acoustic+vocals+fun.
sometimes slow sometimes fast, a bit of guitars, etc. like
it a lot!

i'm going to have to weigh in my hatred for this record
because i am a cynical asshole... i don't dislike dntel, and
i don't dislike Deathcab (more specifically Mr. Gibbard)....
but the combination is a bit much, and i'm so fucking tired
of hearing people say shit like... "oh that album's
electronic? i don't listen electronic music... oh wait! is
it like the postal service?!" the worst part about hearing
this bullshit, is that i've heard it from people who write
for my university newspaper, and people who come into the
cool record store... people who are supposed to be
openminded about these things... GAH!
fucksorry... bleh

i've only listened to this album once, and i thought it was
thoroughly cheese-filled. i will give it another try,
though, because dntel is awesome.

yeah its bullshit.
its wierd though because lots of people who i would usually
agree with musicwise really like it......and theyre like
'well you just dont really understand until you really get
to know the album" ....no its crap....
but, whatever.

offline soundguy from London (United Kingdom) on 2004-06-20 10:03 [#01248230]

well I'm gonna check em anyway, mainly cos timtom said they
were good and he's been providing me with some choice
nuggets elsewhere on this board, but a couple of Smashing
Pumpkins fans can't be wrong either in my view :)

i don't see what's so great about them. but that's just my
opinion. one friend of mine was serious when he asked me if
they named the band after their recording method. like one
person would do a part, mail it to the other, then they'd do
a part and pass it around.
