it's cool.
i wish the end was a bit louder. and maybe "beep-ier"

but yeah it's cool. kinda churchy but like futury.

lots of nice textures, ambience and melody in the beginning.
a good noise and experimental track. on that skipping part
at the end, i think it would be nice to try a different
effect or combination of filters every time it loops. but i
liked it as is. good work.

the ending bit is actually the bridge into the next track of
my portfolio... did it in a bit of a rush this morning, its
just a series of edited excerpts from live improvs... but
the first 1:40 is officially "shards" :)

First off, I found this to be a very interesting track. It
gave me the impression of life, that is to say, it was some
sort of entity (musical entity) as if the track itself were
alive.

To start off, in the first minute, everything is going
nicely, things are working fine. The lifeform is beautiful
and flourishing.

Then around the 0:45-1:00 period I hear what sounds like a
malfunction. The outside beauty of the entity remains
intact, but inside something is going horribly wrong. This
fracturing builds up, causing more and more internal damage
until finally at the 1.30 mark SHARDS tears through the
outer skin, destroying the beauty, and the entity's
functions grind to a halt at 2:00.

From this point on I get the impression that the track/being
is now in a minimal state, trying to repair itself. The
tempo is slow but there is a definite base structure to the
sounds. Healing will take time but is possible.

The last noise of pain at the end leaves me guessing "Did it
repair or did it die? "

I hope that this track is unfinished and you continue to
rebuild this beautify lifeform and restore it to its former
glory.

Thanks for sharing another great piece of music teapot, keep
up the good work. I hope this impresses your assessors as
much as it impressed me.

thanks for the nice description mate... my description of
the track in the essay was "sun peaking through the clouds
after some sort of apocolypse" so its good to hear that it
made you think of something, not necessarily the same, but
it evoked a feeling :)

i am intending on extending it, and it is very much still a
work in progress

It is amazing how music can make one person feel one thing
and someone else can get something completely different. I
suppose there are many factors that will influence how
someone will perceive a musical piece. Mood, relationship
with the creator, exposure to past music, etc.

Me at the moment: I am about to go to sleep after a 9 hr
night shift, I have no idea what your university assessment
is based on, nor do I know you or your music well enough to
'get inside your head' so to speak.

I will keep a look out for the finished version if you
decide to ever post it online though. Thanks again!

I checked it, but forgot to say: NICE!

(I can't give in-depth feedback at the moment (and quite
possibly not for a while). I have to get rid of this awful
tinnitus, and can therefore only listen with one ear...)

It's good...lots of depth...I hadn't read anything you had
written when I first listened to it...and the impression I
had was of a nightmare reawakening. At first I wasn't sure
about the static type sounds...but when the siren type
sounds start at 1:30 it felt like to was the power coming
back in a city and then every alarm in the area started to
sound only to die out again...leaving nothing.

Good work.

This track is great, the sounds at the start are beautiful
and i love the fragmented part at the end, can't wait for
part 2.

Jazembo: That description was spot on for me :)
