sonic the hedgehog remix project?

offline kochlear from aud-stim.com on 2004-04-26 10:24 [#01160926]

nigelbivcorekrotch and i were thinking of organizing a
remix project consisting entirely of remixes of old sonic
music.

before i officially instigate the project i'd like to know
if there's any interest here in doing this. basically i
want to try to get at least 60 minutes of remixes (i can
hold off on a deadline until i have enough entries if that's
what it takes).

so, if you'd be interested in remixing songs from any one of
the sonic games (new or old) please post in this thread so i
know if it's a worthwile project or not.

love,
wes.

This is a pretty useful resource. GYMs and so on.

I'm thinking of doing something, but I'm horribly
unreliable, so don't hold your breath. Unless you want to. I
don't want to sound like I'm trying to order you around.
Please don't hurt me.

also LAZY_TITLE has midi's of all the games as well i
think.

alright now that i know more than just nigel, hed, and i are
willing to do it, i suppose i will start organizing this
project.

everyone who is interested:
email me at wes@aud-stim.com with the following information

-artist name
-track or tracks you wish to do (ie: zone name) and game
those songs are from

example: my entry

earvalve
sonic & knuckles - lava reef zone act 2
sonic cd - metallic madness (present)
sonic adventure 2 - theme song

i am going to put up a spreadsheet on the internet so we can
keep track of who's doing what zones/acts. this way,
HOPEFULLY, nobody will do the same song. you're more than
welcome to do one that someone has already picked, but i
think it would be cooler if there were no repeats.

I HEREBY DUB THIS THE OFFICIAL SONIC REMIX PROJECT
THREAD!!! it's up to someone who's not me to get phobia to
pin this topic. ;)

once again, anyone is welcome to enter this. no genre or
song length restrictions, but your mix SHOULD contain some
recognizable form of the original song.

i'm not going to set a deadline for now because this is one
of those "it should take as long as it needs to because it's
gonna be awesome" things.

cheers, and get remixing! :D

sonic cd if anyone has a specific song in mind but needs
their musical memory refreshed.

i think i had 1000 posts in a month

one month exactly

14K-3/25/04
15K-4/25/04

offline kochlear from aud-stim.com on 2004-04-26 14:28 [#01161398]

yeah but then i have to upload all the sonic cd roms, and
alot of the genesis and newer 3d sonic games have good
remixable songs.

not to mention putting a rom to download on my site is kind
of illegal and stuff even though it already contains
assloads of musical copyright infringement AND i had the
sonic advance 3 rom up for a while
.

oh and here's another resource site:
LAZY_TITLE

that's a giant list of all the sonic games ever released and
their zones and everything.

I think this is a great idea; I love the music of sonic the
hedgehog. Especially 1-3.

Unforunetely I am not a musician but I would love to hear
the creations. I hope this project goes forward.

note that in s3&k the different acts have different songs,
so you could technically do lava reef zone act 1.

man, sonic music ruled

instead of remixing, you guys should be making *new*
sonic-like music. woner what application you'd limit
yourself to; i'd suggest using some really old application,
possibly something that uses the genesis sound chip, instead
of using a modern application with samples. more fun :-)
