I went a doodling through the list of members for a few minutes. Other than me, pOgO, and a select few others, there is an absence of female members on this board. Not only that but the clubs/raves/gigs and things that I go to, there is an absence of female participants in the land of IDM, Heavy Metal, etc. Are they at Brittany Spears concerta? Cher tours!? Or being token groupies backstage? I've tried to get alot of my female friends into Aphex, Autechre, Squarepusher, Lali Puna and more, and they cant seem to deal with the absence of 'My Bitch Left me' EMO lyrics. Man, I HATE emo!!! Its noise pollution!! So....girls and whiny immitation rock. WHat are your thoughts? |

hmm, yes, there are very few on this mb...but the gigs i attend are always filled with girls - tho, if there's some more hardcore stuff playing they get off the dancefloor, but as soon as there's more dancy stuff they're all over the place again. but one thing is sure - guys seem to dig this stuff more. |

i'm not a dyke or a loner-girl.... i just choose to induldge myself in the finer arts of music. i don't know what the hell you consider emo, casuse i'm not all cool and up-to-date about that whole music genre.... but i do enjoy some bright eyes, or elliot smith every once in a while, after listening to hours apon days of geogaddi, or lemon of pink. most of my friends who are girls, love my music.... just the other day i got my best friend telling me to puy in square pusher, go plastic, cause she wanted to listen to "the car song" but yeah, that's my 2 cents. |
