ive just bought a new one im going from 7gb to 80gb can i just take the old one out and put a new one in

You need to keep the old one there unless you just want to start afresh on your computer.

you can put the new one in and format and install os...you will keep the data on your old disk and be able to access it...thats what i did anyway :)

Having two hard drive is very good for music making.
You can have like the programs instaled on one drive and the sounds on the other .

i dont have anything on the old one except my os for about a week and my browser software
would i have to change the bios if i swap one for the other

if you're using win xp than most likely not...but even if you'd have to it's not a big deal.

it depends on if your motherboard's BIOS will support an 80GB drive
most modern boards will accept them, but you'll have to consult your motherboard manual that came with the board.
if you bought your computer from a store like PC World or something, then you're pretty much fucked - last time I checked, most stores don't give you the motherboard manuals
