i just got an e-mail from aw-confirm@ebay.com asking me to
fill out all my details or else my account will be canceled.
It even asks for my password for my e-mail account, WTF???
this can't be right can it. Anyone else had this e-mail?

aw-confirm@ebay.com is a valid eBay account address, usually
an automated one

but it is VERY weird that they want the password for your
email account

do NOT give your password out, get back in touch with them
and tell them that you wanna know WHY they want your email
account password

that's bullshit - they don't need it

The e-mail was adressed to:

"excelent seller - reccomended Buyer oenoneamos()( 39)
Feb-20-04 15:33 2883987774"

that sounds like its been sent from a link from the feedback
page doesn't it? Ebay wouldn't send it from there.

also it says 'last notice'... i've never had one before
this. And it's to 'update' my registration, my details are
all up to date anyway.

sound dodgy doesnt it.

yeah, very dodgy

aw-confirm is usually used to confirm that you've placed a
bid, or used the Buy Now option

do not reply to this email

just leave it

if your account gets deleted, then get in touch with Ebay,
and find out

but i very much doubt that will happen :)

Doesn't sound legit at all. I'd get some sort of
confirmation or denial from them directly before you do
anything rash.

i'd just not do anything at all!

it's obviously someone thinking they can trick pantalaimon
into giving them his details

dumb fucks

i think i'll just ignore it. can't believe they were
actually trying to get my e-mail address password and even
my credit card details.

I think ebay has a policy of not asking for these sort of
details in an e-mail.

its a spam mail mate - i get them all the time from "paypal
" and "ebay" and all they are trying to do is get your
password and details so they can totally drain all funds and
make bogus bids on their items
