so i ate mushrooms for the first time last night. probably the most fun i've ever had in my whole life. of course, i'm completely exhausted and i slept until 3:30pm the next day, but...well. it was worth it. i just ended up wandering around downtown salt lake for an hour or two and then...well. i dunno. the usual stuff. just stared at things and giggled my head off. i loved it. i'm going to moab this weekend with a friend and half and ounce we're gonna have a lot of fun, i want to think.
anyways...tell me your coolest experience with hallucinogens and stuff. something really scary or just something really cool. 1 2 3...go!

i've got the best one... actually a few, but i think this one is in the top 3:
-dropped 8 hits of white clinical -went camping -watching fire for about 15 minutes, regarding the dancing flames evaporate into the night sky
after that, hell broke loose. everything i fucking looked at was doing the EXACT same thing the fire was... dancing around, melting before me... the trees had texture of fire, burning, crackling in the wind.

I had an intense synesthetic experience on LSD once.
It's hard to describe, but if I were to make a noise, then everything I could potentialy hear also made a sound at that exact moment.
Like I would drop a pencil and when it hit I could hear every door in the house shut, the paintings fall off the walls and hit the floor, the television knobs click... etc thousands of sounds all at one instant. It was wonderful.

Once on mushrooms I got my mobile phone out because I wanted to write an idea down... it melted. It looked and felt like it had turned into mercury. I then proceeded to slide the melted phone around in my hands for an infinite amount of time (which was actually only about 5 minutes, apparently.) It was really lovely.

No, I would only hear the sounds that it would be possible for me to hear at that moment. The potential sounds of my environment.
Like, I wouldn't hear a fish splash out of the water because there weren't any fish around.

Mushrooms are the best i think. : )
i was lying on the floor of one of my friends room, she had glow in the dark stars on her ceiling. The ceiling then turned into a rolling ocean with the star's floating just above them shimmering all the colours you could think of. I was totally in another dimention, i think i looked at that for about two or three hours.
The same night i also tried to play bass in a jam but failed because i couldn't stop laughing at the fact that the room kept changing dimentions shape, i then decided to go downstair and listen to some music. Naturally i decided that Mhtrtc would be the best choice i also decided that turning the uv light would be a cool idea too...have you ever seen civilisations grow on your arms?
It's mildly amusing and a bit disturbing, so i stopped looking at that and looked at the floor and the pattern of the carpet looked like it was moving in orderly lines like road traffic.
That is all i can remember visually but i can remember feeling like i had found my childhood again and feeling so full of wonder and amazement, shame i can't do them anymore.
Anyway...
Carry on.

wood grains are also quite nice
I don't believe I have ever experienced true hallucinations on psychedelics, not even when I was on 7 grams of high potency psylocybes

the reader's digest version: i and a friend ate about 3.5 grams dried mushroom each, which turned out to be too much. i remember saying, "dude, i think i'm gonna freak out."
i can still hear him saying, "no, dude, you're ok." very soothing. then he became unable to walk and collapsed in the doorway. soon i was alone in another room, listening to music and overwhelmed with the intensity of the experience.
i could feel a small group of people enter the room, not through the doorway, but through my mind. i'm not sure how many of them there were, but i could not see them with my eyes, only with my mind. they telepathically communicated to me that i had summoned them, and i understood that this involved my physical death somehow, which i found very upsetting. they suggested i could leave my body and join them, or remain. i chose to remain, said i made a mistake and had not meant to summon them. they drifted out of the local space in my mind and as i sat trying to compose myself my friend entered.
he asked me "what the fuck is going on? who were they? that really freaked me out, what did they want?" etc before i said a word. we briefly talked about the strange presences, and tried to come to grips with the fact that we had apparently had the same experience, in separate rooms, unaware of the experience of the other.
suddenly my friend said "what the fuck are you talking about? what people? dude, you're not making any sense." he became amnesiac immediately as we spoke. he didn't remember anything.
i turned and pointed at the portable stereo in the room. i had begun recording our conversation soon after he entered the room, wanting to create a document of the strangeness. he was shocked to hear himself speak about what he could not recall. while it doesn't bother me in the least today, at the time i found this event very disturbing.

you know that slight falling feeling you can sometimes have while your awake? i had that but it wouldnt stop, it lasted ages and for some reason i was struggling not to fall too fast coz i thought i would die. so im lying on my bed can hardly move and im just falling. i put my headphones on wich are right beside me. the music seems weird, never heard it before..... finally i get to my senses again after what feels like 10 minutes and feel terrified. theres no headphones to be seen either.
i know its a pretty boring story but the thing is i wasnt on anything.

It was kinda funny scary at first seeing all the merging satan / george bush faces everywhere i looked, but walking down the dark stairs in the flat where i was tripping was liking entering the bowels of some wet, cold hell. And as i opened the door, who stood there but a friend of mine growing horns and turning into a ram before my eyes...

I had a similar thing once, it was my first time and I had 30g of fresh mushrooms, I lost vision and was unable to control myself. The problem came about for me when I started to think "whoa, I'm fucked" which lead to me trying to fight it off somehow, which leads to fighting with yourself. The physical death thing is something I experienced also - at least in a complete loss of the ego and having no awareness of who I was sense. It stemmed from the concept that all existence was a single mental impulse being expressed in an infinite variety of ways; I had developed some extremely elaborate theory at the time that I became completely engulfed in. I felt like I, and everything else in the universe, was this impulse. At the time it was pretty shocking, but afterwards you realise that it wass simply a load of drugs in your head.

according to my doctors and support groups, if i take shrooms now i might enter a mental fabricated hell full of looping dark depressing thoughts and hallucinations of those inside me who i can hear but no see yet in my stage of psychosis. i may also commit suicide.
as amazing as shrooms may sound, you should all know that your really flipping a coin. it can be a good or HORRID trip.

ofcourse, all drugs have a dangerous side.
it starts already with smoking weed - regularily smoking bumps up your chances of developing depression or indeed schizophrenia.
but hallucinogenics are ofcourse another thing. I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole - my family has a history of schizophrenia and psychosis. I would be shitting my pants if I took something.
rule #1: don't take any drugs when you do not feel comfortable with it. that's just asking for trouble..!

one cloud pouring into another like liquid out of a beaker, with coloured flashes of lighting behind, against a sunset (the sunset was real)
all the stars refusing to stay still
seeing morphing, animated images in carpet... like when you draw on the right kind of carpet w/ your hand, but on its own... it would turn into a flowing stream, then a person in a boat in the stream, and so on...
pictures above a fireplace turning into a face, with the fireplace being the mouth, pictures eyes and nose
woodgrain alive with some kind of movement thats hard to pin down
chain-link fences look REALLY cool, with all kinds of waves and shapes moving through them
actually anything w/ a geometric pattern.. i think its cus it gives the visual part of your brain something to hook into)
and gravel/dirt too (like baseball diamond stuff), it has the right kind of texture
the chainlink fence, liquid clouds and baseball diamond stuff all happened at the same time..... i was alone, my friends were across a field, and i was at this baseball diamond watching the sunset... i was drawing in dust covering home base... then patterns started forming all over the baseball diamond... so with teh shape of a baseballdiamond w/ me at home, with the sunset and this vibrating fence behind me and these patterns w/ long lines stretching out around the diamond.. all this turned into something like a magical ancient monument that was like... a place outside of time

now i'd like to add another wrinkle to the first story.
several years before that incident, i had a similar incident with a totally different person. i was sitting completely silent at the edge of my bed, and my girlfriend was reclining next to me. we had taken maybe 1.5-2g of dried mushrooms.
as i sat silently, facing away from her, i felt a powerful presence enter the space of my mind. i really didn't know what to think, and i sat for a moment in awe, completely absorbed in the experience. the presence was to me eerie and though non-threatening seemed connected to the idea of death. suddenly my girlfriend said "something really weird is happening..."
her hand had begun, independent of her control, to make gestures and twisting movements. my girlfriend was somewhat alarmed by this, and although i had not mentioned anything about what was going on in my mind, she said "i'm not moving my hand, and i can't stop it. there's somebody here, and it wants to talk to you" (a slight paraphrase, i can't recall her exact words). she was increasingly freaked out.
despite this, neither of us could understand any communication, though we even attempted to put a pen in her hand and let it write. nothing but scribbles. as the presence in my mind faded, the phenomena involving her hand faded.
while i wouldn't necessarily encourage anyone to accept as truth anything that happens or seems to happen (or what thoughts or ideas precipitate or seem to precipitate) under the influence of a so-called "hallucinogenic" substance, neither would i , knowing what i now know, encourage anyone to dismiss outright any such experiences as the meaningless products of a "drug."
