haha
you could've just said: 'the only existing masters are at
his parent's house.'

Morton: true, ya got me there :)

Jand: I knew you'd bring that up; I meant
their old releases; not their fascination with
electronic music's roots as of late :)

Yeah, it's probably in the Sub or in the underground studio
(which is only accessible via undersea tunnel :)

ok
i have some strange records:

... i care because you do (on cd!!!)

come to daddy e.p. (fucking rare one, with an inedit track
around the world called something like bucephalus)

and RDJ album, with richards skin on the sleeve in a unique
brown beached colour...
(oh, and with a broken case...)

am i not a real completist?

Melack - Almost complete...
You only don't have a MP3 only release with no inscriptions,
photos or even tracks recorded...witch I call tr5xmtys
(slazaas version 9)... It's probably a Richard D release...

I dont think I am a completist if I am compared to some
people here

Are you referring to that old discography sploog? Cos that's
what I was looking for, apart from this site and discogs.com
I haven't found anything better, so I decided to compile my
own discography.

Does anyone knows about am Aphex Twin's collaboration with a
rap group called Tha Homeboys?? the probably record that it
might happen is "10 Years of Bullshit"...

I'm a poor excuse for an aphex fan, I don't own any AFX or
Caustic Window, etc. I have mp3s if that counts, though.

According to Discogs:

Q-Chastic - Q-Chastic
Label: Rephlex
Catalog#: CAT 002 EP
Format: 2x12"
Country: UK
Released: 1992
Genre: Electronic

Notes: note: The UK test-pressing only double-12" EP for
"Q-Chastic" comes in a generic die-cut sleeve, and is
limited to 100 copies. The records themselves, although
pressed as a double-12", are actually meant to be cut
[because of their groove placement] as two 10" records.
Originally scheduled to have been issued as a double-7",
this aborted EP will never be made available for commercial
release.

note: The UK test-pressing only double-12" ep. for
"Q-Chastic" does not feature a tracklisting anywhere either
on its packaging, or on the records' labels. The corrections
are as appear above.

note: The version of the untitled song, "----------
[q-chastic - #__]" is different than that of "CAT 002" by
Q-CHASTIC, which appears on the UK cd for "The Philosophy Of
Sound And Machine" (A.R.T. 2CD).

I had an e-mail from someone on discogs claiming to be
selling a copy of Q-Chastic. I enquired for more details and
they didn't respond.

saw it as it has nothing on it!

... oh thanks for the adobe cs thing giginger.. works fine
apart from the damn raw plugin.... i'll try fix it though.

I know someone that claims to own it.. though I've never
actually seen it.

All Aphex stuff is fairly easily acquirable if your willing
to spend money.. exceptions to that are :

Q-Chastic 2 x 12" (or 10", whatever way you want to look at
it..)

Analogue Bubblebath 5

Analogue Bubblebath X

Melodies from Mars cassette

There are many versions on the J9 12" too, the t-shirt one
is pretty hard to come by for a start (100) , as are the
ones in the mailer still w/ the candy (fizz wizz, and magic
gum, the latter is the rarer it would seem).

I have none of the above, but I do have most other vinyl.
Wonder if that dicography ever got done..
And what's/where's the Perc#6 ploygon window remix?

think.

I bought that white one, buy it now for £20. Sorry.. I've
two of those now. I also bough another black yesterday for
copy too, yesterday for £22 (rarer? I don't know how many
of each there actually are, but the black ones seem less
common.. like SAW2). I was the second highest bidder on that
J9 too, should've bid more probably but the sellers feedback
wasn't inspiring me to do so... some American won it.
Another national treasure leaves our shores. I should
complain to the arts council :)

well done... the pic put me off though.. it looked dusty and
the guy didnt mention its condition despite my email to
him!? the white one is the original pressing, dont know
numbers though. how do you find out the amount pressed?

apparantly he released (or maybe just gave away for free at
a gig) a record made out of sandpaper, it wasnt really music
it was just noise, he probably only did it to establish a
reputation as someone who is 'different'...still i wonder
how many of them still exist...

offline adam from londonidium (United Kingdom) on 2005-03-10 05:32 [#01527917]

Saw that sandpaper on US ebay last year too. Haha. It sold
quite cheap.. but then, it also looked like it would be kind
of easy to fake..
Btw, if anyone wants to trade a white J5 for the J4 with the
Yellow label, I'm up for that.

Oh no. What have you guys done to me now. I've knowingly
NEVER looked at record auctions on Ebay to save myself from
the torture and also to save large amounts of money. Usually
I tend to get records when they're still new but obviously
some of these old AFX records I didn't.

Now I'm looking at the auctions and have almost placed a bid
for the Mike Dred Machine Codes box set, currently at
£102.50 with 4 days left... Not sure if I can stop myself.
Not even mentioning the j9 picture disc. Ahhhh

offline adam from londonidium (United Kingdom) on 2005-03-10 06:27 [#01527946]
Points: 209 Status: Lurker

There's constantly J9 picture discs.. and there have been
strangely large quantites of the Green Universal Indicator
set recently too. Both are routinely around the £100 mark
these days.
The machine Codes boxset belongs to some guy who posts on
WATMM.. fuck knows how much that'll end up at. Too much,
anyway..

The Green Universal Indicator is such a beautiful package.
Rephlex really used to be on top of the game with their
packaging..

Nowadays it's not that special, even the Analord binder
doesn't come close to Universal Indicators. But I have to
say the Analord label art is ace.

I think the binder wil loook qute sweet once it's full up,
but it's totally non functional really, if you move it about
with that weight in it it'll be in pieces in no time. Mine
stays in it's whorded in its box.

It's an outrage!. Whoever sold it obviously didn't no who
made it. Worst eBay item naming eva, but proof there are
still proper bargains on there.. It'll sell for at least
30, probably more

From a designer's point of view the binder is just not that
hot, also because of the functionality issue you mentioned.
The typography is just dismal (not saying this would
indicate bad taste, rather a bad joke IMO) even though the
sleeves are quite nice with the AFX logo and all. Also, it's
something I will never take with me to dj gigs, it wouldn't
fit in my bag nor take the abuse without falling apart.

Stll, the music is fuckin dope so no complaints here

w!

There isn't really much tpography is there? just one word,
and the two logos... i think it looks alright personally,
though the gold leaf is extremely fragile.. i taped plastic
over all of it to prevent it from drying out and flaking
off.. which doesn't do much for the appearance of the thing.
Yeah, actually, it is a piece of shit when you look it at..
oh well. the records good, and I'm still not selling it
