Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow

Might be getting this tonight, if indeed it's out. Some
Americans have it already, and places are selling it, even
though the commercial says it's out on the 26th.

Anyway, Splinter Cell is my favorite game of this
generation, so I'm getting the shakes thinking about
Pandora.

EGM gave it a 10, 9.5, and 9.5... better than Ninja Gaiden,
and by all accounts, the multiplayer is absolutley
revolutionary and the solo campaigns are better than ever.
Seems like people either loved or hated the first one
though... the gameplay is very structured and linear, and
the trial-and-error style isn't to some people's tastes,
what with MMORPGs and Deus Ex and the like preaching freedom
over rigid missions. Even Hitman gave you lots of choice,
but that was tempered because it was ugly as hell and
everything looked and moved silly-like (Contracts should fix
that).

I loved SC though, it's old school and I like not wasting
time. Sam gets right to the nitty gritty, and casts a mighty
fine shadow. My favorite looking game of all time,
art-direction wise. I don't mind being on a track, as long
as the track is awesome, a la Panzer Dragoon Orta.

There's tons of stealth games on the way... MGS3 is going to
tear a black hole in the atmosphere because it's going to be
so radically bodacious... Starcraft: Ghost looks like a
shameless Splinter Cell ripoff, so naturally it should be
great... Thief- Deadly Shadows will get medieval on your
hineys... the recent Metal Gear Solid- Twin Snakes and
Tenchu (both disapointing, but decent)... Hitman:
Contracts... it's a great time to be a chickenshit.

Do n-e of u guyz liek splitner cell as much as i dew? Any
lame-o haters?

Not to mention Michael Ironside is the coolest voice actor
to ever voice act.

I haven't the patience for all the stealth stuff. I'm more
the bash-in-the-door-and-kill-anything-that-moves kinda
player.

Speaking of that, I hope Neo Contra doesn't suck like all
the other 3D Contras.

Promo- haven't played Painkiller yet (is it out?), but I'm
definitely looking forward to it. Big time.

I got The Suffering the other day, it was fun but I need to
be sneaky for some reason. The killing just desensitized me.
Manhunt was the perfect blend of insane carnage and intense
stealth.

full stop.

occupied for quite a while.

It looks uber-cool though, I bet I could be entertained
watching an able player work it through.

Neo will rock, the third time is the charm. I can't see it
being as obscenely insane as the side scrollers, though. As
long as they don't incorporate RPG elements into it as per
the usual, it should be ace. Shattered Soldier was unfairly
ignored.

I'll have to settle for Painkiller movies for now, the CPU I
have now won't run the thing very well, or at all. It would
tear my video card a new poopchute.

No I played that demo but was bored to death. It felt like
playing DM versus a horde of zombies and offering nothing
more than that. I tend to go for games the likes of Max
Payne (2) ,Call of Duty,Half-Life (2), Far Cry, Doom III,
which (should) have that sensation of "I'm playing
this movie"to them whilst retaining copious amounts of
action.

Soon, I have to now. Haven't gotten around to doing it yet,
I'm not a big fan of online gaming, for the most part. I
love playing through games just to ''see what happens''...
hell, I think I'd rather an RPG have no battles at all. So
random fragfests just don't interest me.

But this is the best game ever and just thinking about
having two human controlled mercs wandering around scared
shitless, knowing I'm SOMEWHERE in the shadows waiting to
break their neck or jump on them from a high perch is just
too awesome.

wait, is manhunt out on xbox?

the suffering is pissing me off because i keep getting stuck
at obvious puzzles. there's some glowing hole in the ground
with a constant stream of monsters from it and i can't
figure out what to do.

i got unreal 2 which is an awesome
bust-in-the-door-and-kill-anything-that-moves game. awesome
single player or co-op campaign. haven't tried multiplayer
yet.

i have played the painkiller demo. It's a brilliant mixture
of shooting and... Mindless killing. Great game though,
quite freaky in places.

Yeah, you definitely just suck. :-p The ammo is in abundance
in this game, more than the last.

Holy fuck, I love the TV station level. And the train level.
And the airport. And the jungle levels. And the whole game.
If it wasn't for Ninja Gaiden, it would be my early favorite
for game of the year.

I saw Hitman Contracts for PS2 last night, but I didn't see
the Xbox version. That's the one I'm getting.

nevermind i didn't realise i had 3 shocker sticky things and
there were only 2 enemies left on that level.

it's all good now. i'm stealthing it out on a train and
keep losing at a part where i have to trace some dude's
phone call.

also...i never played the first splinter cell which could
explain my sucking. i was trying to shoot every single
light out out of paranoia then i just ran out of ammo.
