anyway, socialism is great, being an anarchist, any system where the wealth isnt concentrated into a small ruling class must be great. A system where you dont have to sell yourself into miser in order to live and have the opportunity to fulfil one's self must be good.

>My explaination was less wordy and more true. Possibly ... It is a 'shame' though ... there is so much info and spin and hype out there that intelligent* people can come to such different conclusions about things. We all pick up on the things the reinforce our views, and ignore the things that dont, accross the whole spectrum of views. Its a big problem.

Man, the bias and unintelligence in this thread is just pathetic. Do you people do one ounce of research before you cough out all this bullshit?
Seriously, both sides of the argument are looking like nothing more than children slinging various ad hominem attacks back and forth in some pathetic political penis waving party.
What misinformation am I talking about? Here's an example: Someone posted earlier that the U.S. wasn't involved in WWII until Pearl Harbor was bombed. Guess what? The US was setting an embargo to damage Japan because of Japan's offensives against Manchuria. Japan's bombing of Pearl Harbor was originally provoked by the US.
Also, the clear lack of being able to see both sides of the argument here is pathetic.
LORL SPAIN NEEDS TO STEP UP AND STOP TAKING THIS SHIT FROM TERRORISTS AND NOT LET IT AFFECT THEIR LIFESTYLES.
LORL THE US NEEDS TO LEAVE IRAQ ALONE AND WORK IT OUT DIPLOMATICALLY BECAUSE WAR IS NEVAR THE ANSWER.
Seriously, the hypocrisy here is fucking sad.
Oh and spatchock: anyway, socialism is great, being an anarchist, any system
where the wealth isnt concentrated into a small ruling class
must be great. A system where you dont have to sell yourself
into miser in order to live and have the opportunity to fulfil one's self must be good.
Please explain to me how in ANY POSSIBLE MANNER anarchy can be successful.
PS: Where's the incentive to succeed in staunch socialism?

the reason norway and canada are more socialist is simple. IT fucking cold! you wouldn't want a bunch of people freezing to death... here the bums live like kings...... jesus the us is so bad... but theres not a person alive in haiti who sell his soul to live like the poorest person in the whole us. no one starves to death in the us... obesity here is huge among the poor...

instead of all the bickering in this thread, we should take this time to all agree on the perfect governing style; the one, true, fair socio-economic theory; and a foriegn policy that doesn't either allow one's nation to be easily taken over, or tread on other nation's rights.
go!
p.s. aperson i mentioned the us's pre-pearl harbor involvement in WWII, like the second post after it was mentioned.

this made me laugh, and not just because you said preciously instead of precisely
"the reason norway and canada are more socialist is simple.
IT fucking cold! you wouldn't want a bunch of people freezing to death... "
This is just classic. I think this explains why Mexico is full blown flee trade laissez faire, the U.S. has some social safety nets, canada is socialist, and the north pole is full blown communist! (you wouldn't want a bunch of elves freezing to death)

>the us is the strongest economy in the world [precisely] >becuase we are not socialist... I'd argue it is a strong economy because a load of settlers from europe colonised a huge country with massive natural resources.
You could almost have governed it by rolling dice and still come out with a strong economy.
More seriously: all your strongest economic sectors (aerospace, telecoms, electonics, arms) have benefitted massively from state investment .... the
the so called free markets aren't as free as they're made out to be

ok heres one for starters:
when a political party receives money from a corporation, they should have to wear their 'sponsors' names on their clothes, in the same way that sportpeople do. The size of the name/logo should be proportional to the amount of money donated.
Hence Bush would have 'texaco' emblazoned accross the chest of his suit, 'exxon' down one arm, 'enron' printed accross his forehead, 'haliburton' down the other arm, etc.

Oh and if you all want some actual evidence since you idiots can't seem to do much more than theorize and ostracise...
The Socialist Party had 43% of the vote The PP had 38%
In the 3 days before the election the Polls for the PP dropped by an astounding 10%
That's food for thought...

i also support this idea. if you will, please clarify how you wish to enforce this proposal.
i was also for the campaign finance bill... however, it seems to've failed miserably in it's first trial run, as now people within the political parties set up secret non-profit organizations to filter their money through, and finance all their ad campaigns... so, in effect the 'soft money' didn't go away at all, it just became more underground and harder to track.
all politics/politicians are corrupt to the core.

I think Spain made the right choice. Now Hopefully people in the US will make the right choice and vote Bush out in November. I think Bush did the right thing by helping Iraq, but he went about it completely wrong, and why is he giving 80 billion $ for aid when people here are broke and jobless?

i'm not going to bother to read through all this because i know it'll just frustrate the fuck out of me... i'd just like to say, and i hope this has been pointed out umpteen times already... i noticed that it sort of was in the first 60 comments... Spain's ruling party will probably be about as left as the governments of Canada, Germany, Sweden (well probably less than Sweden, but the point is that none of these countries have particularly unstable governments, particularly when you compare theirs' to the AMERICAN government), France, etc.
this post was started out of the sheer miseducated ignorance of someone who is forcefed ideology every goddamn day of their life
