coupled with a mid-level graphics card, it should make a
nice graphics machine

That's really not all that cheap. It's not expensive
either, but it isn't amazing, you could build one yourself
for about that.

i built one for about ¤600 only about 3 months ago with the
cheapest prices and still have an inferior
machine...xp2500+, 256MB ram, i guess the dvd-burner brought
the price up....oh well, i am buyin one, u want one too?

Just to qualify what I said, all you are being offered there
is

Motherboard & Processor - £175
2 sticks of RAM - £40
Floppy Drive - £5
Case - £30
80GB Hard Drive - £40
DVD-ROM - £20
Keyboard - £5

That comes to about £315.

Where do you buy your components? I'm going to build myself
a PC when I get back from holiday and would like to get them
cheaply for obvious reason :)

Just go to a computer fair and bargin them down there. I
have a deal with a company called Blade distribution based
in Manchester to get my components but the prices I quoted
are pretty typical of fair prices.

i'll prolly loose the weight on that crap keyboard....309,15
GBP [¤460].
i'll settle for that, but by the time i have enuf money i'll
opt for 2x512 sticks and a 160GB hdd.

BOGALA/GIGINGER
the dealer is at www.aquado.net
german based, apparently selling directly to companies,
rather than everyday consumers.

to get to the configurator, you'll need the following info;

Kundennummer: 88888
Postleitzahl: 47011

aaaah, saves on the taxman....

my main reason to get a company here in germany is to keep
from getting kicked outta the country...when you're
employing 3 germans its kind of politically incorrect to
send that person back to aussie land even if they dont have
proper papers....:)

i dunno its like getting a boke with an extra special
edition bell and horn and a spare tyre patch, its just
crap.

i like building something decent together, even if its more
expensive in the end, i know what i have....

man i got ripped off big

mine was $1680AU (about $1260US) 8 months ago and i even
built the thing myself

Power supply 480W i think (could be more) $150
80GB HDD $180
ASUS P4S8X Mobo $150
P4 2.4Ghz processor $300ish
2x kingmax 512 ram $300ish
128mb ATI Radeon 9200 $180
cd burna $60
dvd player $60
digi doc 5+ (can't remember, $100 maybe)
modem $20
case $50
other shit fdd + cables, etc. $50
7 fans, guards, etc. $80

but i spose it was 8 months ago and prices were higher back
then, but that still doesn't include the extra shit like the
monitor, speakers, kb/m, printer and scanner. total is over
$2000US.
