I received my promo copy of family almost a week ago, and
it hasn't left my CD player yet.

On first play, my impression was of an extremely well
crafted, fairly straight forward piece of electronica. Each
subsequent play has revealed more and more depth to this
release. This really sounds like the health music the goon
promised (but IMO didnt quite delivered) with his previous
rephlex releases.

I get a similar feeling from this release that i get with
the beach boy's Smile album. It's very inspiring stuff. A
strange mixture of electronics and acoustics that fit
together beautifully, with strange crooning and strange
tuning.

Though the tracks exude an in-your-face funkiness, the
overall sound is filled with the super subtle sounds,
structures and melodies, that i believe are key in the
longevity of good music.

Tracks that really rock me are numbers 2,4 and 9, although
all the tracks are immensely enjoyable and uplifting. This
release bodes well for the J-HOK imprint.

I ordered mine when Ceri made a topic about it last week.
So far I have had no confirmation of my order from the goon.
