Saw Iron Man last night. I'll give it an 8/10. It was good
for a marvel movie, as good as something like Spider Man II
or X-Men II which were some of the best ones. Robert Downey
Jr provides a lot of comic relief and was a perfect fit as
Tony Stark.

Don't expect something with the tone of Batman Begins or Sin
City, but a fun popcorn movie with lots of explosions,
jokes, & special fx.

greenstreet! so bad. elijah wood was as expected but was
hardly the worst part of the film only because everything
else was just that terrible. IT WAS THAT TERRIBLE!

Glad to see this film reviewed because I've picked up the
DVD a few times and read the back.. I like films like I.D.
and The Football Factory so I was toying with the idea of
getting it.

If it's dirt cheap thean buy it, just for a look at an
american perspective on the subject. It's a great laugh. The
cockney slang is awful and the acting is really weak. They
even managed to squeeze in a LOTR style close up on Elijah's
softly lit eyes.

Yeah I was always intrigued how they could make Elijah Wood
into some sort of Football hooligan type... maybe I'll DL it
if I see it :]

Southland Tales - 5/10

Really wanted to like it. It takes balls and a bit of
stupidity to make films like this. I hope he sharpens up
next time. On an ideal plane this movie works, but the
execution ruins it. Editing is especially obnoxious. The
actors, for what it's worth, do a decent job. Justin
Timberlake is probably the best actor in the film. How odd
is that?

Stalker is quite a beautifull & interesting film, haven't
seen Solaris for a while now, I should rewatch it again
since I have the Criterion Collection lying somewhere around
here in my room (I have the Andrei Rublev also, but I
haven't watched it yet, just got it)

I'm tired of pushing my Zerkalo agenda, but that movie is
really where it's at! Tarkowski's other movies are almost as
good, but not quite. And you better not have a different
opinion.

The Signal 5/5! <---!!!

Awesome movie and very funny. I love how the nutcases reason
and justify their murder rampages. They go around in bloody
clothes and think people won't notice they killed someone.
The ones that "know" they're not affected by the signal are
the worst.

You gotta see this one. Some really funny scenes. "I'll deal
with this. You go ahead and hot-wire the head in the
meantime." One nutcase thinks he can stimulate the brain of
a man he'd decapitated earlier "in self defense", in order
to find out where the gf of the other nutcase is. Of course
it works too, atleast in his head.

There's a short sequence at the beginning. The movie is
nothing like that, it's just some intro and then the movie
starts proper.

I agree, I was really dissapointed by it. Some of my friends
keept ranting on and on about it (of course those friends
would be the bunch who are most steriotypical "manly" type
who olny want action / shooting / hot girls / big explosions
etc.), so when I saw it i just didn't really care about that
much.

The thing about Alien 4 is that it really is quite awesome
until that "humalien" thing... though I did like the scenes
where the crazy doctor guy was mergeing with the Alien
thing...

Alien 4 was a bit pants. Bits of it weren't the end of the
world but it was basically bad. The stereo type characters
were boring.
Now, Aliens is hardly going to stand up against the first
one but it's great for youre standard action space ting. In
fact it's the best typically american space action shooter!

yea ridley scott and david fincher are both good directors
so 1 & 3 were the best. aliens is the most blockbuster
style because james cameron is a big blockbuster director.
I like Jeunet for city of lost children but alien 4 just
wasnt that good. I remember the cgi seeming really bad even
for the time.
