just an idea i had for some time.
what about making an xltronic clubmix ? 130-140 bpm stricte
danceable ?

i mean not as a xltvibe, just as a standalone.

just asking if there is anyone who want's to join so i start
looking after webspace :D

anyone ?

everyone make their tracks the exact same bpm and just play
them all at once.

call it "Intelligent DANCE music" :P

Good idea though, mail Phobs about it...
I'm in favour of it.

You could insist on a rigid 133bpm (house music) and beat
mix all of them together in something like Traktor really
easily.

far now? ;)

i have some fairly mid-tempo tunes.... maybe i can
contribute something...

Points: 8670 Status: Lurker | Followup to Ceri JC: #01049623

yeah that's what i thought about :D but i use kramixer and
an external mixer instead...

i mailed phob but he didn't like the idea as a xltvibe...
that's why i'm not making it as this.

aesthetics: that would be REALLY wonderful.

offline sadist from the dark side of the moon on 2004-01-26 14:52 [#01049710]

i just can't think of any restrictions besides the bpm...

though i don't want to to destroy someones creativity.

the only thing i would want is, that this mustn't be
commercial techno or some really simple 4/4 beat.

be creative.

i think the average bpm should be 135 - bumpy tech house
alike beats :D

"insisting" on something doesn't seem the best idea for a
colabo like this. but of course the bpm should be about
that.

i just can't still decide if this should be more housy or
more techy... :<

I think it is simple, you came with the idea so you start
the mix and pass it to the next one, they return it and you
deside if you like it or not ?

that's a great idea !!

so here are some ideas for this, i'll decide till tomorrow.

1. make it secretely. everyone sends a song, i mix it at
home and give you the whole project ready.

2. i make a list of everyone. i make the first song and sent
it to the next person. he tries to make his song kinda
smooth fitting to mine, he sends it to me and i mix it
afterwards. then te next person and so on....

3. ia make a song, send it to the next person, he does a
song, MIXES it into mine, gives the two songs to the next
person, he mixes his into and so on and so on...

any other ideas ??

i think i could definitely host the final project! as far as
those 3 ideas, i like the first one best, just because it
would allow us all to be as creative as we want.

any idea on a deadline yet?

deadline ? let's make it easy going...

14. february would be nice ... :D valentine's day.

maybe some vocals in the songs like "i need your size" haha
and some love-house (actually this exists, i have seen that
written on a flyer two dasy ago :)

no i think that's too much on one collabo. dance and love at
once... not good.

but actually let's make it 14 february.

If you're intending to beat mix it (you ought to IMO, if you
want it all the same genre/rough tempo and it is meant to be
"danceable") it'd be better to set a bpm (be it
135/140/whatever) to begin with, rather than alter the pitch
of people's tracks using the pitch slider...

make a beat in a program where you can choose the bpm then
use that beat as your pallatte in soundwave.

you can give place nr6 to another member, I didn't
understand that it was about "home made" music.

Does the idea of creating the artwork still count?

135? alright - i wrote both my tracks at that speed. i'm
going to be uploading them to wire-fm shortly....

Here are my two tracks.

The tracks you want are "Jupiter Needs Hot Goth Chicks" and
"Pleasure is a Selective Woman."

There is some four-four movements in the beginnings but the
beats soon develop so be patient. Enjoy! :D
