so I wrote this email to warpmart: __________________________________ Monday, January 19, 2004, 10:43:23 PM hi I am Ignacio Matallana and I have already bought 3 venetian snares cds at warpmart but I would like to find these too: songs about my cats 237 0894 is it possible to order them? __________________________________ and I got this reply from warpmart: __________________________________ Hello, I'm afraid these items are out of stock and i don't think they are available anymore, sorry __________________________________ well I see those albums in other stores, are they out of print or what? I thought they could order them if a customer asked for it. if they are out of print I understand, but as I see these albums in other online shops I was stranged about the answer. for those who will ask : "why dont you buy it on other place then?" well I wanted to do a big order at warpmart so that I safed more money and most of the online shops where they have those release are from the us (more shipping costs and more time to deliver) |

well i think they (warp) sold some copies to other stores, and kept some for their own shop its too much hassle to buy back copies when they ran out of them |

Various shops may have already ordered them and have their own small stock on their shelves. So they'll have copies when other places might have sold out. If you were to buy up all the copies in a shop they won't be able to get any more either. Warpmart clearly have sold out. |

i placed an order at warpmart a week ago and still haven't received shipping notice??? it's either they ran out of something or forgot about me. i think im going to mail them tomorrow and ask what the hell is wrong this time. |

maybe they also list the albums as available, but they aren't really available and if you order them you'll get a "sorry, this item is out of stock blah blah blah blah" mail afterwards... ' _ ' |

now they cancell my order cos they dont have higgins but I go to warpmart and there it is. really it had not been since last friday but it is there again now... I dont understand anything |

A whole bunch of distributors will get a few copies of the album each to stock, depending on how much demand they get for an artist will decide the amount sent to them. MU is in control of this however not Warp, Warp may tell MU that they have had a lot of demand for an album to be re-released tho. Once all the products in each store have been sold I'm sure mike will ponder a repress if he thinks they will sell. If he goes ahead with that then I'm sure Warp will be first to get them in as I presume this is where a lot of the sales will be made. A product may be listed on a site even if only two are in stock, if three order at the same time or before the item has had time to be removed from the store one guy will get an e-mail saying sorry... Warp may sell out first and other shops may hold stock for ages so if 500 copies are floating around in other places you are gonna be waiting a while for a re-stock at Warp. |

i emailed them earler, they replied already...i ordered big loada among other things and appearntly its out of stock, but they said they're getting some more copies and will send it as soon as they get it. |

you can or you cant? tolstoyed: thats a normal answer: we dont have it but we will get more. but in my case is like: we dont have it, go other place and dont bother us. maybe is because this was my first purchase there and you buy a lot there |

hmm, for now they're my favourote online record shop...i only had same trouble once, but that time it was some japanese compilation (must have a very small release and they probably didn't pay much attention as no one was ever asking for it haha). anyway, they were very polite with respond, and im in no hurry (it's just that they could send a notice about what's going on, before i mailed them). it's a bit weird why they replied you like that, they could send you a nicer reply :) look, here's the one i got: Hello Goran, Big loada is currently out of stock. We should be getting some more copies soon and will process your order as soon as they get here. Sorry about the delay. |

Well, I imagine that the album is out of print now, and warpmart have sold all of their copies, so they cannot order any more. Other shops still have copies left in stock, but they be the last. |

btw, did you hear "songs about my cats" already? i haven't and i don't have it either, so i was wondering what is it like - what other funk's release is it most alike? if it's really out of print, i must be quick :) |
