This de facto solo joint by Mark Bell, the lone remaining member of the duo LFO, is ballistic but aimless. Throwaway tracks such as "Sleepy Chicken" are the first sign of trouble, and the Star Wars zaps and frozen orchestra strikes of "Freak" -- key vocoderized lyric: "This is going to make you freak!" -- never really deliver said conniption. Now that's a great, well-written, well-argumented review. |
