76 spanish people died

this weekend in car accidents

people keep dying in car accidents and nobody seems to
notice or to even be worried about that.

its absolutely ridiculous to die this way... just for
imprudence...
if 76 spanish people had died due to a bomb we would all
have heard about it...

but it was only 76 in car accidents this weekend.
stupid way of dying...sad

Don't take this the wrong way mate but the Spanish drive
like fuckin maniacs. And people drive round on scooters and
bikes with no helmet, and sometimes, no clothing on their
upper body. You guys have a death wish.

Yeah the Spanish are notoriously bad drivers...like the
Italians, but this number of deaths in a weekend is common
around the world. Cars are dangerous. People drink and
drive and as a result people die. The roads are overcrowded
as a result people die. Driving for some people is too
stressful and as a result people die.

On the otherhand it is effective as a means to contributing
to population control.

It's so funny, out of all the fears people have, I've never
met someone who has a phobia of driving, yet it's one of the
most dangerous things you will do in your life.

totally true

but back to point.

if 76 people had died due to a bomb you would have felt sad

but when you read it was car accidents "only" then you felt
even dissapointed... didnt you?

actually, no I wouldn't - the bomb thingy I mean.
People die all the time, and if you were to feel sad every
time a human being died (or animal for that matter), you'd
walk around like a depressed zombie 24/7.

its true ... 76 deaths in a weekend is just about ususal in
any country of several millions population

and the fact that we just see it normal is reall sad I
think.

What the fuck are you trying to say about me mate? That I'm
an unsympathetic bastard?!

It is just as sad as a bomb going off. But less concentrated
deaths don't quite focus one's sympathies as much.

Poverty is an even bigger killer BTW, however banal.

and broke my leg

Just ban all forms of motorised transport in Spain. Even the
bus drivers are psychos on the road.

well, i like the traffic in spain and italy...they're very
good in hard traffic, if we had that many cars here, where
people are affraid of being hit the traffic would simply
stuck.

oh, and i think we're in the 2nd spot (right behind
portugal) when it comes to deaths caused by car accidents -
no wonder really, cos ppl in charge of traffic arrangements
dont have a clue about driving...

its sad...

YOU unsympathetic bastard :P

How many people shed a tear for the millions who died in the
Rhuandan genecide? And yet people cried themselfs
dehydrated over 9/11...morals in this world are fucked up,
so I took the decision to have none.

Swansea apparently used to be the number one city in the UK
for joyriding. I think that's what inspired the council to
install 10,000 new CCTV cameras around the place.

i very much agree with you nacmat, this troubles me too
actually from time to time, it's just insane, it's so
terrible to die so uselessly, nobody seems to care. and then
here in holland we now have this holy war against smoking
because 1000's of people supposedly die from passively
smoking, that's just putting your head in the sand for real
problem, im pretty pissed by it.
í did stop smoking though, a bit, for myself though

car accidents during the whole 2003.... which are the
lowest since 1943 or something.

If everybody stopped drinking, the world's car related
deaths, vandalism, street fighting, glassings etc would all
go down by a noticeable amount.

I feel sorry for people who don't drink, because waking

these 76 people who died...sure it wasnt some big couch
accident or something that took up most of the deaths? I
dont want to beleive all 76 people were in their cars alone,
that would be too sad.

I dont mean to contradict myself but- if a bomb killed 76
people that would be extra sad because those 76 people would
be grouped together at the time, those people could have
been targeted on purpose...

well, i havent had an accident for like 7 years before...and
that was quite an achievement, especially regarding where i
live
the 1st one i had wasnt my fault, and the one i ha yesterday
was mine - tho i couldnt prevent it, it was my fault by the
book, but technically it wasnt :)

I would be more upset if it was a bomb because in all
likelihood it would of been none of the bombed
people's fault, whereas at least some of the car crash
"victims" died of their own stupidity...

i was in spain for a month this year in barcelona and jesus
christ. it's like people aren't taught how to drive. those
scooter people have got a death wish, driving like maniacs.
i was told that the average was about 20 deaths (if not
more, can't remember exactly) over a weekend just near
barcelona. that's a way to high number...
