Kinda...

it was for class... we had to score the opening credits for
Alien 4

sorry for the low quality... i made it so its only 2 mb, so
it wouldnt be only viewable on highspeed connections...

anyways, let me know what you think! Its my first ever
attempt at putting music to visuals...

Aliens Score

Fuck Quicktime, I'm not installing that shit again...it
takes over my computer...Error Quicktime had a problem with
you even bothering to turn your fucking computer on...would
you like to upgrade to version6 pro.

Any chance of encoding in something good? (ie. any non
quicktime format)

yeah man! thats some really good stuff!

very nice mood you create! Nice little melodic lines too!

The sample of the woman crying/talking is VERY
disturbing.... which is a good thing :) Nice work man!

That's really amazing. I don't know if this was just for an
assignment for school or if you plan on going into film
scoring, but I think you should look into it.

thanks man :)

We do have a film scoring major here at berklee... however
Im not in it.

I was going to do it, but I decided to do a duel in synth
and composition.

The film scoring major is pretty much just composition, with
a few less writing classes, and a few more scoring/editing
classes for video.

I figured I could get more out of the composition major, and
teach myself the rest. Alot of film composers are just
composers who happen to get into the biz somehow.

But yes, it is something that I am keeping as a
possibility.

Anyways, thanks again man!

it's okay. it sounds more like an incidental score though,
not much like an openingsscore.

I like the original openingsscore, which has a more
'lapping' movement in it, which works better with the
imagery and the way the camera moves over it more.

it has more anchorpoints with the imagery, I guess. in
short, your's misses a theme.

So, in this case, what is a 'theme'?

I really like the feel of this.

It's mysterious at first. The overall ambience that is
occuring in the first half is quite solid.

I would like to hear a longer version of this track.

It reminded me of something off of Ryoji Ikeda's "OP" if my
memory serves correctly.

veeery nice. the ambience, as virginpusher said, is really
solid.
you actually made a piece of that movie watchable. nice
work, good luck with music making.

Nice - I love the melodic statement at the end, very "awe
and grandeur", it's like getting to the center of a tootsie
pop, which makes me wonder why you didn't make the hard
candy shell thinner and make the center bigger.

Interesting. Nicely done. Not to my own tastes but nicely
done. Why was Alien 4 chosen though? Does your teacher know
anything about films? Clearly Leon is screaming out for an
attempt.
