Actually seeing a fireworks factory explode near you is
insanely impressive.
Happened to me this summer - I was in Italy with my family,
we'd gotten a small house/hut thingy for two weeks (in Bagni
di Tivoli near Tivoli near Rome), and it was maybe half a km
away from a fireworks company. We'd been there for maybe a week
(I don't remember exactly when it happened) and had
occasionally seen them apparently testing products at night,
when two laboratory sheds exploded.

We were sitting around a table outside and playing rommé
(rummy in English?), so we noticed pretty quickly. There
were a few small bangs, so we assumed they were testing
again and went to look, and then this flash and a giant
noise. A huge golden fountain of fire, and there were all
kinds of rockets and things going off in all directions.
There was still a great big cloud of smoke hanging over the
area in the morning.

And this was a rather small event. A few fields caught fire
(including the one across the road from us; it's really
something to watch a wall of fire moving towards you like
that, though as I said this wasn't really as big as it
seemed in the night), and some more sheds burned down
without exploding, but apparently this was all routine for
the local fire department. They got it under control rather
quickly.

The explosion didn't make it into anything more important
than the local newspaper, either. There's always something
burning down or exploding throughout the summer, apparently.
Not worth mentioning.

Yep, I liked the sand one best. The Fireworks was good, but
it'd be better a lot better if it was DVD quality
footage shot from inside a weighted cage.
