braindance's got most loyal fans

well, i dont know about other genres...that is i know for
some, like techno and hause events (raves) - people into
that are quite loyal as well but they rarely visit distant
gigs, while braindnace fans often visit gigs in other
countries (at least this is what i noticed)

are there any other genres with such silly fans??

Metal fans are downright obsessive. I've had a lot of
experience with them lately because I'm diving into the
genre now, and they're rabid. And silly. Fucking annoying at
times, but at least they're passionate.

IDMers are my favorite group of fans though. Because they're
obviously the most intelligent people around.

another thing i've noticed...people visiting braindance
events are there more for the music
as for the raves - music there is good for shaking booties
so it attracts a lot of girls - and well girls attract guys

i dont know anything about the metal scene - i also think im
imagining a meatl fan totally wrong hehe

For individual bands, Dream Theater, Opeth, Katatonia, metal
bands like that, their fans really, really like them. A lot.

I wish I could say Beatles fans were that aggressive, but
there's just too many of us, too many casuals. I do my part
in the fanboy department to make up for the
bandwagoners though.

what are Dream Theater like?
a friend said some really nice things about their music
couple of days ago - i think she said they're like
progresive metal or something like that, not that i know
what that means :) and she couldnt describe how it sounds -
should i check them out?

or As I Lay Dying, they're a metal (metalcore) band with
double bass so fast you'll think it's a drum machine.

or better yet, Agoraphobic Nosebleed!! they actually use a
drum machine.

ah i love heavy music.

Yeah, it's artsy ''progressive'' metal, a lot of concept
albums. I'm not a big fan, but John Petrucci is an extremely
impressive guitar player, inhuman. Mike Portnoy, their
drummer, is also excellent. Great instrumentalists, but I'm
not fond of the songwriting and themes, or the vocals.

They're good though. If you like Yes, Pink Floyd, King
Crimson, etc, you might like them.

all the stuff i mentioned is about as opposite as you can
get from progressive metal. The stuff i mentioned is
chaotic as shit.

there was a Rephlex show in Austin a long while back - over
a year ago - with Bogdan, Ovuca, DMX Krew and Cylob all
there. I wanted to go SO bad and tickets were a reasonable
price.

Never went though- i STILL regret it. :(

Haha! See, I'm not too fond of them! A bit too much cheese
for me. But they're much loved in the metal community and
they're talented musicians.

Try Ephel Duath- Painter's Palette, there's a prog metal CD
that I DO enjoy quite a lot.
