Beautiful electronica songs

viktor from Sweden on 2001-04-22 11:46 [#00004191]

What songs do you think are the most beautiful ones, those
who really give you goose bumps? I'm talking about tracks
like the following:
Aphex Twin - IZ-US & Alberto Balsalm
BoC - Amo bishop roden
Autechre - vietrmx21

\/\/ooÆ’erAttack!!! from Milan on 2001-04-22 11:55 [#00004193]

Aphex Twin - Flim, The Waxen Pith, Nannou
Noise Unit - Ascent
Orbital - Halcyon+on+on
Equinox - Electronic Dreams
Front Line Assembly - Corruption

They might not all sound like Aphex Twin, but they are all
electronic songs...

i don't know how electronica you might consider it, but
sigor ros has some beautiful tunes on the agaetis byrjun
album. the first two tracks come straight to mine, but the
whole album is great.

TekN010G from Australia on 2001-04-23 22:33 [#00004312]

foe some reason blur (aphex) does it for me,.. the melody
barely in the background is nice,.. I also find Eutow
(autechre) nice,.. and dirty shadows (FSOL) also nice,.....
Bermuda (Fluke) nice,.... How Could they hear us
(Fatboyslim) Nice,.... 3 kilos (Prodigy) nice,..... Winds
Over Neo Tokyo (Akira Soundtrack) Although I'm not quite
sure that one is electronic...

Id Lab on 2001-04-24 00:28 [#00004322]

Nothing does it for me like Tortoise's Along the Banks of
Rivers
, though BOC in general is beautiful. Also
Makunouchi Bento's Patchouliforme Hefner's Love
Will Destroy Us In The End
and, right back in time,
Allegri's Miserere.

crapnose from Montreal on 2001-04-24 02:07 [#00004333]

all of DJ Shadow's Endtroducing; his score for Dark Days;
lots of other stuff he's done. portishead, both albums.

crapnose..when will dark days be available on video/dvd/cd?

Ramalpha84 from New Zealand (www.mp3.com/aureus) on 2001-04-24 05:54 [#00004365]

Arch Carrier beautiful??? I always thought of it as ominous.

artificialselection from hell on 2001-04-24 07:16 [#00004367]

If beauty is the adjective you are seeking in music, I'd
have to suggest the songs with female vocals in plaid's "not
for threes". Lust.
And some of plone's "for beginner piano" I guess, but a lot
of their songs are, I dunno, pink-bubblegumish?
And fur elise by mozart (or beetoven?)

takeshi on 2001-04-24 08:23 [#00004374]

\"catkin and teasel\" by mu-ziq, squarepusher\'s \"theme

Xanatos from NYC on 2001-07-08 21:27 [#00013219]

Here are all the most beautiful tracks...not necessarily the
best but these are the ones that gave me goosebumps the
first time I heard them...and the best ones continue to.

Aphex Twin:

Alberto Balsalm - this gets my #1
Analogue Bubblebath I (nearly cried)
4
IZ-US
FLIM
Analogue Bubblebath 5 - Track 7
Polynomial C
Aphex Twin & Robert Miles - Rare Duet
On the Romance Tip
Melodies From Mars - Track 9
On

DJ Shadow:

This is what comes to mind now, there is of course, a lot of
Aphex Twin I'm sure that to be forgetting. There is also a
lot of amazing underground BoC that isn't listed which is
tough to find. When searching for Midas Touch try to look
under the name Hell Interface, Mask 500.

Tell me what you think! xanatos@nyc.rr.com

Aaladorn from Texas on 2001-07-09 07:08 [#00013276]

I can't believe more people haven't mentioned Björk, she
just has one of them send-shivers-up-your-spine voices, and
she uses it in amazing ways. If you haven't heard anything
by her, check out Homogenic, or hell download "Hunter",
"Bachelorette", and "Joga" and this should give you an idea
of whether you like her or you don't.

H3XAN3 [C6H14] from Melb. on 2001-07-09 09:11 [#00013287]

some portishead and massive attack gives me that
spine-tingling feeling. particularly 'it's a fire' p.head

little tibetan kids running outside the temple at the
end...sigh
