I have several, and these are a few of them, but my all-time favorite "regular" typeface is the Adobe Myriad font family.

Verdana is indeed very good, and it's my favorite webfont, when not using WEFT to incorporate Myriad into webpages.
But, Verdana is very common, and maybe a bit over-used.

therre arre alot of nice fonts out therre that look good when they arre simply a picturre of what the font looks like, but when you use them in Word, they look shit. also some fonts only look good in a cerrtain site. Like Verdana only looks good size 10.

Akzidenz Grotesk for a classic sans serif font... Mrs Eaves for a normal serif font...
and for fancy stuff: Not Caslon Suburban Backspacer Motion CICOPACO UckNPretty BurnFont Bits Determination Microphone (each letter is a part of a telephone conversation)
LinearConstruct AgitProp CyberStatic (unreadable but damn cool) TapeType LushUs ScratchedOut etc...
lots of other ones too i forgot... some shareware or free fonts also rivalize with the commercial ones...
i'd love to have Minimum too, but i do not have it. =/
