Pogo, re: Student Card Unfortunately, they (particularly on longer journeys, like to london) actually ask to see your young person's railcard when they check your ticket... even if they're nice they'll make you pay full rate if you don't have it with you (both of you forgetting them is a little unbelievable), if they're nasty, they'll void the 2 young person tickets and make you pay full rate :( I'm gonna book my tickets (not seats) tommorow- apparently they're cheaper if you book in advance. For info, you can get a young person's railcard provided your under 25 anyway... (nothing to do with being a student) It wouldn't pay for itself on this one trip, but if you made 3/4 journeys of this length a year it would. Might be worth looking into. |
