my mother buys organic food... i do not eat 100% organic though (when it comes to yogurts sweet things etc, there aren't much choice and sometimes it's not as good as "normal" stuff), just mostly for vegetables fruits etc.
i am vegetarian except from shrimps sometimes.
i try to care also not to eat too much and quite equilibrated, i don't want to become fat... (and i don't like greasy stuff anyway - but i should care more about sugary things) / i care a bit about this, but not as far as going on a diet anyway, i don't like my body and it being fitter wouldn't change much...

As I've got older (I'm 28 now), I've found that my body has got less tolerant of certain foods. I now have to limit how much sugar and wheat I eat, which is bloody annoying. If I eat too much bread I get cronic pains in my stomach.

i'm 23 now and i wonder how much longer i can keep up eating whatever i want, whenever i want, without getting fat.
i swear i could eat a cow and not gain weight. not going to last forever tho.
either way, i still do care about what i eat. fortunately, i eat anything, and i can really enjoy healthy stuff like apples and salads.
i wish i could cut back on the alcohol tho. if anythings going to get me in trouble, its alcohol.
this wine tastes awful.

wine is my fav alcohol! (the "healthiest" one to)... tastes sweet... But I drink fruity wines, not really red/white ones.
But now I have a couple of liters of Ouzo and a bottle of Pina Colada at home, so I guess I will finnish (atleast part of) them before buying wine...
--- oh yeah I care about what I eat. I'm rawfoodist (I eat a vegan diet)...

some people gain weight easily, some don't.

I don't know what to tell you. I don't want it to sound too crazy ;)
In short my detoxing was very easy but my cravings for cooked food was VERY big at some times...
But I have learned a lot during the year and I started out 80% and am now 100% most days of the week (I haven't had any big problems with cravings for a while now)...
I can tell you more if you're interested, just ask.

fruitywines, is what I call them (and that's what they are called at systembolaget [fruitwines], the "only" place where you can buy alcohol in Sweden)...
They are made of different types of fruit, like cherry-wine, pear-wine, apple-wine, etc.
Not traditional wine. They taste great btw.

I've found that there's a certain satisfaction from cutting out some of the crap food that you don't really need to eat. Stuff that you're told to eat when your young through advertisements and stuff. The food industry has a lot to answer for!

You're right, all improvements in diet can be felt (more or less - that's why even small improvements are good, and if you feel better from them, they'll motivate you to improve your diet even further).
Being 100% raw is ofthen described as a "high" - but really this is how we're supposed to be feeling (if you think about it; no animals eat cooked food).
talking about crap food, here's a very on-topic article about "crap food"...

High fruit and vegetable consumption has been associated with a reduced risk for cardiovascular disease, several common cancers, and other chronic diseases (such as macular degeneration and cataracts). Potential preventative mechanisms identified in human studies include: antioxidant activity, increased detoxification, immune stimulation,
decreased blood clotting, reduced blood pressure, anti-bacterial / -viral activity, and improved cholesterol
metabolism.
Legumes (e.g., beans, peas, lentils, and peanuts) are excellent sources of protein, fiber, and a variety of micro-nutrients and phytochemicals that may protect against
disease. Isoflavones found in soybeans are associated with a decreased risk of prostate cancer and increased bone mineral density in post-menopausal women.
Regular consumption of nuts has been associated with lower risk for heart disease and mortality. This is likely due to their favorable fatty acid profile, fiber, copper, magnesium, vitamin E, plant sterols, and various phytochemicals. Walnuts are particularly noteworthy because they are rich in the omega-3 fatty acid alpha-linolenic acid, which has anti-blood-clotting properties.
Whole-grain consumption is associated with a reduced risk for heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, and stomach and colon cancer. Possible protective mechanisms include fiber, oligosac-charides and other fermentable carbo-hydrates, trace minerals, vitamins, phytoestrogens, and antioxidants.

an interesting fact about Oreo cookies that they didn't mention in that article:
My manager toured an oreo manufacturing plant. when the oreo's come out of the machine at the end of the line, they have NO FLAVOR. they taste just like cardboard. they must age the oreos for a month or so and the flavor develops.

It should be noted that the article you posted comes from a private weight loss company. i looked around and could not find any references to sources where they get their information.
while much of what they have written in that article is probably true, i know that many facts posted there are still up for debate.
i'm just saying (if anyone cares) that before you freak out and change your eating habits based on that aritcle, you should realize that they obviously have an agenda.

good point. if you eat too many calories, from any source of food and you don't burn those calories, they will be stored as fat.
mass does not spontaneously generate. eat less calories than you burn and you will lose weight.

yeh, but for example, i have read recently(of course i can't remember my source of info...)that the whole osteoperosis thing from drinking soda is not for certain. i read that it could possibly be a myth. the fact stated was that people who are drinking more soda are subsequently drinking less milk. they therefore get less calcium hence weaker bones yadda yadda.
damn, i wish i could remember my source though. it was some doctor,, i swear ;)

I don't want to debate the article as I didn't read all parts "carefully"... It just seemed right to me (what I read), and it didn't seem like a thing to twist the truth about...
And the things they mention - you can't possibly say they're good for you.
