136 was my first choice, my vote I mean.

I would have never guess the original track though

:-\

I just listened to it (forgot which one it was)

genius? I dont know... its the amen break, cut to the point
of barely feeling a pulse, and you cant tell what song it
is...

:-\

not hating... just, not my thing.

that was the first thing i thought too, but that (and 096)
was the only one that really kept playing and i ended up
voting that one anyway

wait... so you dont think its genius

or you now do, after multiple listens?

actually...yes....after a whole lot of listens i really
became attached to the mood-swing in it...it reminds me a
bit of Squarepusher

man.... the streaming quality is aweful

i listened to my track... and it sounds like it was recorded
through a dirty pipe, with a PC mic...

if anyone listens to mine... listen to the mp3...

but all of em for that matter... im stearing clear of the
streamed versions...

i hate it cause i can t understand how it is a remix to
6tie_0C0r9rt. I dont hear autechres hi hats?? or even their
bloop sound that i liked so much in the original??

well. i was really dissapointed of the fact that the most
tracks seem to try to sound like autechre. i was couting on
some more original works

i really needed to *BUMP* this thread cause its important.
rmx136 needs to be discussed and first and foremost PRAISED
because its me with the amen break, cut to the point
of barely feeling a pulse, and you cant tell what song it
is...
its GENIOUS!

offline soze from Kingston (Jamaica) on 2003-08-20 11:35 [#00829753]

that track should have been an afx or squarepusher remix,
very not ae sounding. Other than that it was pretty good,
if a little unoriginal.

offline xceque on 2003-08-20 11:41 [#00829767]

I thought it was very good, accomplished and all, and I
liked it, but didn't have that added bonus of a phwoar! or
oooh! factor...

I'm listening to them all now and once I've gone
through 'em a couple of times I'll probably find other ones
that are really good too.

I voted kocklear's #116. kochlear's other track is great
too! and I really liked the first one by hyakusen. The other
one by hyakusen had me downstairs a couple of time cos
there's this sound in it that's exactly like my doorbell :/

shut up shut up, i cant take ANY criticism regarding rmx136.
because: its a work of pure genius. its a masterpiece and it
only deserves praise!
i´m only gonna ask you once, zeus, listen to it one more
time, and learn to LOVE it! its a very complicated piece and
i spent all my time and gear on it!
PLZ!

fuck it, i need to know this.

why are those remixes that are up now numbered from 1 to 25?
how can i know which one is which without listening to em
all? the artist names are really unclear in a lot of cases,
and knowing what the original track(s) are would be nice to
know as well.

my favs. of which i'd very much like to know who did them,
and which tracks they feature are:

003 <
022
023 <
096
110
114
141 <
143 <

< :favorites of favorites.

cheers a million :D

offline Zeus from San Francisco (United States) on 2003-08-20 13:35 [#00829932]
Points: 14042 Status: Lurker

eh?

they are numbered 1-180

at the bottom, it says "next 25".... theres many pages

and the artist name and song title is pretty clear to me...

offline xceque on 2003-08-20 13:36 [#00829935]
Points: 5888 Status: Moderator | Show recordbag

Eh? The remixes are numbered 1 - 171. To find out which is
by whoever, look for the number. To find out who 003 is by,
look at 003 (it's by tallyho) for example. Maybe I'm not
understanding your problem but it seems really terribly
simple to me.

offline J198 from Maastricht (Netherlands, The) on 2003-08-20 14:40 [#00830018]

sod. if you'll excuse me i'll go slap myself in the face for
not noticing that 'next 25'. seriously, i missed it. no i
dont need glasses. i was just unaware that all of the
remixes had been put up.

however, some artist names and tracknames are still
unclear.

for example:

004 alexanderpeter clipper (deuxmatin - 03 remix) 04:00
005 exm pntil (remix)
006 mogynbachfuturep coec (remix v1.3)

who is alexanderpeter (here the ae title is clearly clipper,
agreed)? and who are those next names/titles?

i just think it would have made more sense if the MB aliases
would have been used.

either way, thanks, and sorry. its a great contest.

offline kurrrak from Bialystok (Poland) on 2003-08-20 14:53 [#00830040]

ok. these are my best:
010 013 022 024 026 030 036 047 051 057 060 068 095 109 112
167
i know there's much of them but the choice was really
difficult.
what are your bests?

sorry, but it was almost impossible to find out all mb
usernames. some wanted to remain "anonymous" or preferred to
use their artistnames. a few ppl forgot to provide what
track they mixed, and when i emailed back i never got a
reply. stuff like that happened and there is NOTHING i can
do about it now.

next time things will get much more strict in aspect of
filename syntax and actual mb usernames. we've learnt alot
from this, but both ae and xltronic wanted to give the
contributors ultimate freedom... maybe a little bit too much
IMO.
