I HIGHLY suggest Radian, from Austria. They're a 3 piece -
One guy on synth, computers, a bassist, and a guy on
drums/laptop. I saw them live last year and they blew me
away!! They are on Thrill Jockey now: Radian link
Their music is hard to describe, but you have to see the
drummer in action. It's pretty dubby at times, a lot of
noisy synths, bass swells, great broken beats.

damien rice is nothing IDM related, just an ace songwriter.
He does acoustic stuff with a female backing singer who's
also badass. I highly recommend 'O' the album.

I like dubby, I like noise, I like bass, I like broken
things.
...sounds like Radian is something I shouldn't miss. =)

THANKS for the link!
it contained some mp3's =o)

i think im not going this year, too expensive and there
arent many good bands.

but i really would like to see steve-o nailing his balls
against his leg and kicking in people's nuts :)

i'm going to a little festival in two day's,
great bands and really cheap entrance.

check the website www.feestinhetpark.be

Supreme? to wich other festivals did you go this summer ?

hey YO! Voice of Europe! (lol!)

There DO are a lot of great bands.
That's the nice thing about pukkelpop.
There's allways something interesting going on on one of the
six stages.

Steve O is not going to take his dick out of his pants this
time, because the crowd is too big (he said in Humo) so you
won't miss that.
I'm not going to see jackass. they probably do their act
while Goldfrapp is playing on an other stage.

where did I go?
I went to Werchter (duh!)(bjork was magic!)
Rock herk (aereogramme rocks!)
Lokerse feesten ( I saw Vive la fête; they're gorgeous!)
Marktrock (3 days) (side stages)(im so sorry, but this year,
it s-u-c-k-e-d)
and parkpop in Mechelen, which is every week
(I saw Micha Marah )(hell!)(most funny concert ever! )

This weekend, I'm going to Maanrock, here in Mechelen.
Praga kahn is playing. for free.

Yea man, you are right, there are great bands

Its just im a bit disapointed when you compare pukkelpop to
dour, you will see that dour has much more to offer, and
that at the half of the price.

Ive been to werchter on the saturday, i wanted to see Queens
of the stone age, Millionare and Royksopp.

I saw Vive la fete on dour but there was something terribly
wrong with her voice, and the keyboard guy was drunk, but it
was ok.

Marktrock sucked indeed, almost like every year, oude markt
is a big ripoff.
Mauro and T'hof van commerce where very good.
Every evening there was a nice party in Rumba( first day
millionaire on the decks, second day killa tactics, third
day drum n bass)

Ive also been to reggea geel wich was nice.

Praga kahn is pretty good.

My father co-organised a little festival this summer in
Turnhout wich featured Red Zebra and Praga kahn.

After the festival my father and me went to drink champagne
with maurice engelen and that drummer :)
They are really nice guy's.

hmm that line-up... festivals this year... disappointing...
grandaddy is nice though. haven't heard the new record but
as long as they play am 180 you'll be fine :)

how are ticket sales going in belgium? here, pinkpop was
hardly sold out and lowlands (which is next week) as of yet
only sold 10,000 out of 60,000 tickets...

ps have a good time!

I don't think it's disappointing..
There's +30 groups in that list I want to see, you don't
hear me complaining!
I will definitely go see Grandaddy! (and fischerspooner,
golfrapp,cex,massive attack,terrence fixmer,...)

I don't know anything about the ticketsales,really.
A few weeks ago; there was a rumour that it was almost sold
out, spread by the organisation .
I guess that means the ticket sales didn't go as good as
they wanted to see it and that they wanted us to rush to the
shops to buy 'the last tickets' .

Rumours about a sold-out pukkelpop are bullshit anyway.
The terrain is too big.
Pukkelpop has never been sold out and never will be.

fuck. i think i'll be saving up money for next years.
thats a severely bad-ass lineup.
i'd give cex a miss these days tho. i'm not into his
whiteboy hiphop thing he's doing these days...seems a bit
weak.
grandaddy for definete tho. i love them.
