thats insane

i don't get why you have to pay money to post pictures
either, thats pretty much free on every other message board
ever

it's a good topic to bring up, never apologize for bringing
up a useful discussion, and thats what that is.

my 2 cents, making this a strickly pay site would not get
rid of trolls. it's inevitable that they would pay and then
think they have a carte blanche to do whatever they want,
and not get banned.

thankfully rules are rules so what applies to people that
don't pay, also applies to people that pay.

i think warp should be giving phobia $$ for promoting their
artists via the discog etc.....i mean this site has been
around for SEVERAL years, and they should funnell some money
over to worthy sites that only EARN them more moolah!

i'd pay money if the discog was more than just rubbing up on
warp

there are several message boards that i would love to join
that are pay (and once i get credit options i will join) -
one, for example - is the somethingawful.com forum - it has
a $10 fee and is pretty much troll free - basically, if you
do something that is listed as innappropriate in the FAQ -
you are banned.

several people a month are banned for posting "hi - i just
signed up/first post" threads - on their first day.

if a decent faq is made with reasonable boundries we will be
able to keep things in order - as long as those rules are
enforced

this would definately make it easy to keep this board troll
free

i think it makes perfect sense for warp to pay phobia for
banners and direct links to online sales. xltronic and WATMM
are almost giant ads for warp in their current incarnations
(especially WATMM, at least phobia talks about passarani,
bola, a & e..)

People arre acting like the $10 is needed so you can enjoy
the MB, the extrras (like pic posting) is just a cheap bonus
to the people that go to the efforrt to give $10

titsworth: yes, but they denied... "we're not doing stuff
like that".

i'll talk to them again.

definitely do so. pitchforkmedia.com has small, relatively
unobtrusive animated GIFs advertising the latest warp
releases (click --> warp's site). maybe if you showed them
the discog they'd realize it's a good idea.

Maybe pitchfork paid Warp?!

I smell a conspiracy of covert communism!

i wouldn't mind paying $10 for a full year. I think I could
scrounge 10 bucks - but some trolls I enjoy.
