so i went to the plaid concert yesterday, and since some people from here were gonna be there i thought i'd make a topic about it.
firstly, did anyone take pics or record it? they played almost all of the new spokes album, but sadly didnt play track #1, even springs. it is my favorite off the album and i was dissapointed.
secondly, some friends of mine were there, and they said the new songs lacked a certain something.
it was too random, too playful and didn't have natural progression of chords and melodies.
so in this topic i also put in a small review of 'spokes'. :P
so yeah, anyone else there who wanna share experiences and maybe pictures?

my equip was confiscated, and in a way I'm glad, cuz the whole show sucked! I've never been so utterly dissapointed after a gig, as I was with this one..
the show didn't lack a certain something, it lacked EVERYTHING

That's bad. But Plaid-concerts are never much of a show or what? Anyone who went to Supersilent?

plaid doesn't belong in an outdoor festival anyways. I'd rather prefer seeing them in a small, indoor venue, like so-what or something..

not much to tell really - In general, I was disapointed with the new material, which I found rather dull, at least at the time, but that might change when I get the album in october (not gonna hear it until then, except for what I heard live of course..).
Basically, I was expecting some kick-ass oldies, like Headspin and material off of Double Figure, Rest Proof Clockwork, Not For Threes, and them old tracks from Booc/Trainer etc, but it just didn't happen. Scoobs in Columbia would have been nice.
They did one tune off of Double Figure, Zala, and that was it. I guess time of course was an issue, as they only had 45 mins on stage, before the next act. I'm sure more time would have yielded older plaid-material eventually
On a scale from 1 to 10, I'll give them 3, and that's just cuz I'm being nice, cuz that's the kinda nice guy I am.
