net dating - yay or nay

so here's a question for all you hardcore net addicts.
should i even arse myself with anything along the lines of
"meet that special someone" net dating sites?

i've just signed up for the (free - a definite bonus)
campuskiss.com website - a fair bit of gals from my
hometown, which is nice, and it's also how my friend met his
g/f. though i'm definitely a sort of "let life bring what
it may" type and not too outward as far as effort.

does anyone have any horror or success stories along these
lines? is net dating even worth my time? or should i just
continue to wank to porn?

well, you got balls.

I actually went on a blind date with a girl I met on a band
mb, and she was nice, but not gf material for me
personally.

Go for it, just meet in a public place and see how it goes
from there

damn hard question...

I've got just about no porn on my puter right now... about
finding true love on the net : I think it's moer
difficult/easy depending on where you live...

I once met a girl off the internet. We were meant to be
going for a drink, we ended up in the toilets after 15
minutes. Then I left her about half an hour later because
Liverpool where playing Fulham and she told me she was an
Evertonian, right after she had taken advantage of me. I
felt so dirty and used.

i guess the question is: how realistic is getting a date
that way? i've been warned that i might as well not bother,
because most girls won't give you a chance in hell, since
the net makes it all the more easy to pick from the cream of
the crop (as if girls weren't picky enough to begin with).

IF they are looking on the internet for a date beleive me
they won't be too fussy.

hmm. i dunno about that. us males are a dime a dozen to
begin with, as far as most women are concerned, and the net
just makes it easier for them to cherrypick from our lot.

just because they're out for a date on the net doesn't
necessarily mean they're desperate (unless they're of the
fat & ugly variety. hehe!).

by the way, you seem to be quite the laydeez man. what's
the best dating advice you could offer? fuck 'em & chuck
'em?

haha I am far from a ladies man. All I do is try and make
girls laugh. If you can make a girl laugh and have the guts
to make a move then they are yours :D

i try to make girls laugh all the time, but i'm bad in the
"putting the moves on" department - something about getting
a slap-in-the face rejection, i reckon.

and when i do try to put the moves on, they usually shriek
away.

so what's your adivce for "putting the moves on", then?

Don't worry about getting the knock back. Besides you just
have to manouver yourself into a good position. Like with
my current girlfriend I started messing about with her
trying to grab the remote for the TV. I got it then gave
her it back after about 10 minutes. Same thing happened
about 5 more times and in the end she decided to put it down
her top to stop me getting it. I just dived in there and
the rest it history :D

Just use jokes to get comfortable and the rest will follow.

planned escape route :D

seems that you get more & more addicted the more you fail...

to do so.

meeting people online also has the advantage of you knowing
what their interests are straight off,.. which helps
prevents problems later when you realise that she can't
stand AFX, or any of your favourite movies. (which is always
a cunty thing)

lol, no, another band.

In any event, I mean, if you meet by you both wanting to
find a mate, then I don't think that will work.

If you meet cuz you both like swimming, and have mutual
interests, then might as well I say.

try to meet real people first is my motto now though:D

I don't see anything desperate about it,

I go out, meet plenty of girls, but always end up dry when
it comes to interests,.. I get along with them well, but my
interests are specific, what I need is a "filter", I haven't
ever dated someone form online, and I don't think I ever
will, but I don't see any shame in it, I actually think it's
a rather intelligent thing to do

I've never dated anyone online, until....

I started talking to this girl on slsk. (won't name names,
but you all know her from here) We have common interests
out the ass, and have connected *really well.... I think
about this girl all the time, and plan on meeting her (she's
faaar away, but no matter) She wants to meet me too, which
never fails to put a grin on my face... =)

I know you'll read this girl... you know who you are

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. People fall
in love that way. It's just as reasonable as meeting a girl
in the shops when you are buyin a loaf. i say go for it. And
make sure they have a photo. Also have a backup plan in case
it goes tits-up. :-)

this probably makes me look bad...but. whatever. i was
involved in a six month relationship after meeting a nice
girl on the internet. and i'm still yet to know why i was
her type, really. or...why she hung around with me after
meeting some of her other male friends. *shrugs* oh well. no
complaints here. =]

Therre is nothing wrrong with it at all, they arre still
humans sat at the otherrside of the computerr. You prrob get
to know someone betterr online than you would meeting them
pissed in a club.

Yes but you can't fuck them over your cable connection,
where as you meet them in a club and you can plug your cable
connection into them that very night.

Nay. Lets face it, you want a nice piece of ass man, instead
of letting them play their jedi mind shit on you, wich will
happen when you talk to much, go to a disco, be manly, be
mysterious (how can you be mysterious? talk as little as
possible! and when you talk, talk about them) and do it the
old fashioned way. I considered net dating, but before i got
to it, someone told me how to get the "flair". And hell,
sample a 1000 and miss right will probably come some day.
Thats my theory anyway. So basically, i would not reccomend
it.
