Me it's got to be Avril Lavigne - Chop Suey. She fucked it
up.

White Stripes - I don't know what to do with myself.

She did and she couldn't even get the words right!

Just pretednd it was that one. Someone's done a covr of
Nelly that's in the charts here at the moment. I think it
was Anus_Presley as it's called Hot in Herre

yeah, that's the one... pretty bad!!!

heh, she probably doesn't even know who Bob Dylan is... she
didn't even know who David Bowie was up until just a little
while ago... come on... EVERONE knows who David Bowie is...
and definitely most musicians, especially ones like Avril
who are "arty and creative" and quote unquote "write" their
own songs... *sarcasm*

I don't know if I'd call it terrible, but perhaps everyone
should here Devo's cover of Head like a hole. It's scary to
say the least.

the good covers:

i love the covers of "sunshine," (john denver!) "the man on
the silver mountain," (rainbow) and "blue moon" (big star)
by his name is alive.

"life is life" (opus) and "geburt einer nation" (queen) by
laibach.

"golden hair" (syd barrett) by slowdive.

"lucifer sam" (pink floyd) by love and rockets.

"strange brew" (cream) by severed heads

"map ref 41?n 93?w" (wire) by my bloody valentine

the kraftwerk covers by the balanescu quartet (string
quartet arrangements!) and senor coconut (latin style!) are
largely great. as is "neonlicht" by mitja v.s.

"crazy for you" (slowdive) by ulrich schnauss.

"sunshine superman" (donovan) by mel torme.

"(i can't get no) satisfaction" (rolling stones) by devo

"do you wanna dance?" (???) by the ramones

"drugs" (talking heads) by this mortal coil

the all-time classic cover, "all along the watchtower" (bob
dylan) by jimi hendrix.

there are many i'm forgetting...

some of the worst:

"no fun" (the stooges) by the orb.

"i want to hold your hand" (beatles) by the new christy
minstrels (wretched beyond belief, no hyperbole is
sufficient)

"popcorn" (hot butter) by caustic window is surprisingly
pedestrian.

there are of course many terrible beatles covers, i've also
got "purple haze" (jimi hendrix) done by an incompetent
japanese psych-rock band, sammy davis jr doing the "theme
from shaft" (isaac hayes) etc etc etc.

i have to mention also laibach's cover of "across the
universe" (beatles) is unbelievably great.

my friends were watching MTV, and Papa Roach did a
GOD-AWFULLY terrible cover of Nirvana's Lithium. Jehezus
Christ! I think you guys have named most of the worst ones
in existence though! :-D
I also, personally, don't enjoy Dynamite Hack's cover of
"Boyz in the Hood" by NWA.

So here's some good overlooked ones:
"Have A Cigar" - Pink Floyd - covered by Primus (FUCKING
awesome!)
"Hurt" - Nine Inch Nails - covered by Johnny Cash (i think
it's good, so did Reznor)

Fiona Apple also had an unbelievably GREAT cover of "across
the universe (nothing's gonna change my world.)"

I actually liked that song...I think his voice was really
cool and his moves aside from his assfuck bassist who looked
so annoying

eh sorry :|

I just can't stand them.. and hate how rock and roll they
made the song. Totally stripped it of the uniqueness it has.
