I've been listening to this this afternoon, its quite good.
My favourite tracks are Vex and Gatha

Although in my opinion I must say that I think 'Quique' is a
better CD IMO

Anyone else like Seefeel?

Yep. I have their last single on Too Pure Records, called
'Pure, Impure', which has the excellent 'Moodswing' on it;
plus it also contains AFX's finest remix, 'Time To Find Me'
(fast and slow mixes). They also did a song for Artificial
Intelligence II called 'Spangle', which I thought was really
good. And I heard some Disjecta stuff, which was also v.
good. What are their albums like, and should I perhaps
invest in them?

"Moodswing" is a good track I have to agree

I like seefeel. But it is something i have to be in the mood
for. I can't just toss on a seefeel album when i am bored.
It has to be the right time!

i can put on quique any time i want, and it PUTS me in the
mood for seefeel. :D

that's the only one i have though, what other albums are as
good?

I like all their albums, but Quique is probably my favorite
as well. It's unique - I've never heard anything that sounds
close to it.

If you liked Quique you'd probably also like their first two
EPs (which are out of print). Their sound lost a bit of its
organic quality when they moved to Warp. If you like that
style check out Mark Clifford's solo stuff as Disjecta and
Woodenspoon.

the rephlex album chi vox or whatever it's called is good -
very minimal and dark though

yeah i think seefeel generally and 'succour' especially are
vastly underated.i reckon they have influenced so many
artists its not true.i was just listening to jim o'rourkes
'i'm happy and im singing...' album, and i kept being
reminded of seefeel (not saying he has ripped them off or
anything...just that they were ahead of their time).
you might want to check out the recent disjecta ep (thats
mark clifford,seefeels main-man)...called 'true-love by
normal' (on Polyfusia, but you can get it through
WarpMart).its sublime loopy klanky guitarwonderment.

"spangle" was first released on the "Starethrough ep" - that
ep is great - the last track, "lux 3" is the best...

the us label "Astralwerks" have released seefeels two first
out of print eps as "Polyfusia" and feautures 10 great
tracks (both AFX mixes).

As far as I know Succour is the only thing still in print. I
hope I'm wrong, though.

yeah i agree with the jim o'rourke similarities. i recently
got interested in seefeel and was reminded of o'rourkes more
avant garde stuff, indeed. seefeel were massively ahead of
their time, apparently

although they did stick quite some bland or even annoying
tracks on succour, taking away much of the prettiness of the
album

the autechre remix of spangle is great, kind of sawII-ish

Succour, Clean Pit and Lid and Looking For Snags are my
favourite albums on Warp. Those and Tri Repetae.

There's just something really special about the atmosphere
of Succour, it gives me goosebumps every time I listen to
it.

yeah,i think 'quique' is out of print.too pure are such
slackers.i know a lot of folks who dont have the album but
want it.its well overdue a re-issue.perhaps Warp should do
it.after all they signed seefeel cos of that album.agree
with xceque about the seefeel and disjecta releases on warp
as well.some of the labels finest moments.

Yeah, all seefeel stuff is good, they have their own unique
sound, I personally prefer Quique (plainsong and imperial
are so very good)

I like Seefeel and I like Disjecta. Mark Clifford's latest
(I think) project is called Sneakster. They have an
excellent album called Pseudo-Nouveau, released on Bella
Union in 1999. Anyone heard this?

Succour is definately underrated.Seefeel are one band I've
listened to consistently since their early career and they
never bore me.I always admired them for the change in
direction with "Succour",they could have easily done another
"quique" but didn't.They have a unique sound that's
definately been poorly emulated by others for years. Some of
the side projects that emerged from seefeel were really
good.Scala had some great stuff and the collaborations with
Locust were brilliant too.Talking of underrated
artists,Locust is IMO."Weathered well" and "truth is born of
arguments" are 2 of my most listened to electronic albums of
the 90's and the latter album has an amazing seefeel colab
track on it "Penetration".Seefeel also did my favourite Ae
remix so there.:)

through VI

I like Scala, but it really shows the weakness of Sarah
Peacock's voice. Beauty Nowhere is always a worthwhile
listen though. Locust is great, though not strictly
speaking a Seefeel spinoff; Van Hoen produces them I
believe. Van Hoen and Darren Seymour cut a record called
Aurobindo: Involution which is some cool noise.

I find that CH-VOX sounds totally different realising it's
their last release.

Sounds so dark and minimalistic, as if seefeel is
disappearing forever in a void.

Gives it a whole new dimension.

One of the few bands that actually got Techno & did
something cool with it...

Narcotically hypnotic...
